So next fall I head off to college and I am in the market for a new laptop. I was hoping some of you guys could lend some advice as to what I should/can get for under $1000. (Brand names, etc)

Personally, I would like a decent size hard drive, at least 512 RAM, possibly a video card (integrated or not) with at least 64 mb, and a processor over 2 gh. Dont know if all of that is possible for $1000 or less but I am not very knowledgeable on laptops.

I appreciate any and all help.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the help so far guys! Those deal are really awesome. Just one thing, I dont see anything about a video card or whatnot for them...

Also, would any of you recommend actually getting the one dmorris showed? I dont need it to do anything specific. I just need/want a laptop thats pretty fast, has a decent amount of space and isnt too limited in its capabilities...

Thanks

Dell previous buyers get awsome coupons like 30% off and other deals, if u are a previous buyer.

That's how i got $1100 off my laptop and retail it was $3000.

Looks good to me. I've had several Dell laptops and like them, although they were all the business-line Latitude models. My current D810 is pretty sweet, but not dual-core unfortunately.
