Pay the $15 it's worth every dollar.

13-06-2006 16:20:20

quit while your ahead, don't get addicted to it. I never started because I've only heard horror stories about getting addicted.

Bill

13-06-2006 16:23:03

Private servers are garbage, there's barely any players, it's buggy, and laggy as hell. Not to mention illegal. Either pay the monthly fee or don't play at all.

Taerth

13-06-2006 16:26:17

^^ Just manage your time wisely only play you have nothing else to do..

shit my cousin got addicted to this shit for the 4th quarter of school. He blew off everything to play this. Like he got mad addicted, and his grades dropped etc. He's finally starting to be able to put it aside. So tahts good.

It's worse than heroin. Very addicting. I was the lucky few that got out.

13-06-2006 17:19:58

So what's so addicting about it?

Can you try it out before paying the $15?

Yeah you get the first 30 days free with the game, that's what hooks you.

There's just so much to do, leveling, and PVP battles give you such a rush along with raiding, there's just no stopping.

13-06-2006 17:45:56

Yes. I played this game for roughly six months. The depth of what you can do is exhilirating and I think that is what draws people in. Plus, its a very simple design but not too simple to put people off. Guilds, PvP (one of the best features of this game), events (such as the "every three hour" arena challenge), raids, the questing system (brilliant) and smoothness of this game make it extremely addicting.

Honestly, I dont know how I escaped. I guess it was because many of my friends werent playing anymore and I couldnt really afford to pay the monthly fee. In the end, I am glad I was able to stop. Too many long nights and the cut in my social life were horrible. However, I wont lie to you and say the game wasnt fun as shit while it lasted.

my comp with 512 mb of ram and an ati x300 could run it on medium settings so how crappy is your computer??? shock

correction my mom's comp...

DrkWarlock

13-06-2006 18:00:25

Well, my comp isnt bad. Idk, it just was really laggy for me. Perhaps it was because of the zerg rush of new players flooding the servers.

My comp has 1 gb of RAM, 160 gb HD, but a 64 mb integrated video card. It ran WoW pretty well.

Aurelius

13-06-2006 18:04:04

o just make sure you tune down the settings. i lagged early on with my crazy overclocked ocz gold vx and an overclocked evga 6600gt... turns out the turn your resolution to max and the settings are pretty unrealistic too

akalic

13-06-2006 18:04:27

so no one knows anything about these private servers?

tylerc

13-06-2006 20:49:40

Actually I played for a week and got bored and then after my month was up I bought a game card because I was like I didn't waste my money for nothing.. So played again and NOW i'm hooked ( ) I'd rather be hooked because it's either this or something else..

13-06-2006 21:23:31

I played for 8 months are so...very addicting. i eventually just got bored with it...it became repetitive. i recently started playing again, though.

WoW is addicting and fun don't play on private servers only play on public. Make sure you have the whole summer to waste and warn your friends they will not be seeing you for a while.

theysayjump

14-06-2006 01:46:48

I just don't see how it can be so addicting so I'm gonna try it out. I'll report back with my findings......or maybe I won't.

MSG

14-06-2006 03:08:22

I play it.
I have only been playing for a couple weeks and haven't gotten to experence battlegrounds and all of the other stuff yet. Just trying to get to level 60 then I will do that stuff.
It's against the rules but I use a bot to train. I spent a lot of the last 6 years playing another mmorpg, and I learned not to do that again P. It might be unfair to legit players but I'm not going to waste anymore of my life training on a damn game.

wowglider.com is the link to the bot
It cost $25 but it will save you hundreds of hours.
There is a free trial, but it stops after 5 minutes +/-

[quotee60273d7fc="theysayjump"]Ok, so besides "don't do it", what do I need to know before I get started in this?[/quotee60273d7fc]

Like strategies or materials?

Obviously getting the game would be a plus. The game is kinda self explanatory it guides you pretty well to start.

theysayjump

14-06-2006 14:48:42

Well I meant just anything I should know to help me get started or if you can just download it and get into it.

johnjimjones

I have mooched off my friends-cousin's account for a while, but he changes his pass like crazy, so I rarely get to play.

[quotefdac9a0199="Gooogler"]I have mooched off my friends-cousin's account for a while, but he changes his pass like crazy, so I rarely get to play.[/quotefdac9a0199]

My friend does that too. When you have a highly valued account you change your pass every other day because (for some reason) they let other people play your character and then you change it so they don't steal it. My friend had the best priest on the server and got his account hacked. Lost all of his epics and 4k+ gold (he was an enchanter). Luckily Blizzard was able to restore his account.

Gooogler

16-06-2006 22:14:55

I would stop playing if I lost all that, he's lucky.

justinfreestuff

24-06-2006 09:39:22

OK, after a week of playing this game it's pretty damn fun - i play mostly with my brother, who also install the trial the same day i did
i'm a lvl 17 warrior, and trying to explore and do about as much as i can before my 10 day trial runs out.
there's no way im going to buy the game, b/c i'd ruin my life P

kudos to blizzard for making such a kickass game ([iaa2cc80ca8]again[/iaa2cc80ca8])
