Need your opinion!

If someone (one of your refs.. let's say his name is Bob.. approves for one of your site and plays a trick trick, what would you do in thsi situation?)

Ok one day you (admin of a popular site) are just sitting, and someone pranks you through AIM, and you find out it was one of the recently approved members of your site..

What would you do?...

Would you immediate place him on hold?

Or you wouldn't be stuck up and play along with the joke?

Or Would you have to think about it...?

Please don't mention names.. or anything. This in no way is offending anyone. It's just a poll. I would like to know what you guys think. [/code1360ef4706f]

What kind of joke? Did it relate at all to the site?

Remember that your personal life and professional life should be kept separate. If the joke didn't breach the TOS, just let it be.

Yes. It was pretty much something like "check my link again, you approved a scammer"..

Let's say when this approved person was away, his friend was playing a joke, and the paproved person, was "peer-pressured" into continuing with this joke.

I still think more information is needed. Did he try and convince you someone else is a scammer?

Well, I personally wouldn't think thats funny at all. I'd put him on hold until his refferals and him were approved by my ad company and I was paid.

Kind of like fighting a joke with a joke. If they(the person who started the joke) gets pissed...tell them, if you don't wanna be o, hold, don't say dumb shit like that. Then message them and tell them they are off hold when your ad company pays you for them...

But let's say that "someone" HAD BEEN approve dby the admin and also had his order placed... And the ad company approved... Now what?

If he did not break your TOS, and if you don't think he intended for any harm and doesn't intend to cause harm, let it be.

He is no harm at all.. He didn't break any TOS, except this is stated "the admins may do anything or put anyone on hold for any reason"

And lets say this "someone" apolgized alot.. and still gets a "i have to discuss this with my partner" response.

Ilan, switch the roles around. wink

JustBlaze786, I know the whole story and it's not as cut and dry as has been suggested in this thread.

I know you know the story. Don't spoil it. If it's not cut and dry, explain to them what happened to this "someone"

No, the ENTIRE story isn't as cut and dry, not the prank joke part, but it's not for me to say, so I won't.

imho, if he didnt break TOS then you should not put him on hold. even though he acted like a child a legitimate business should not act like a child. act like an ADULT and a real business and let it go.

I agree with jy3.

It sounds like you want to put him on hold and you want people to side with you?

We only know what you told us so we can't really tell you if you should or shouldn't.

Anyways, it does sound like a personal issue, which should be kept seperate from business... no matter what!
