hey, if you want a better deal those cases i have a good link for you.

goto

http//www.lajo.biz

browse around there for a bit, then this is what you do when you're ready to order

at the top of the page will be a banner on the left side it says Lajo in graffiti writing. click on that and it will change the banner. Under friends key put "twistrman" then on the other part make up your own user name and password. You should receive a $5 credit in your account. The cases are a hell of a lot cheaper too, and a huge selection.

Oh and if you don't buy right away, you can login again by click that same logo, skip the friend part and just put in your own login stuff, but the first time you have to use a friends code, it's invite only

let us all know how your ipod photo fit in that thing. I don't think it's specifically designed for this ipod so it would be interesting to know how it works out for you.

do not get anything for your ipod except the exo zip from www.lajo.biz, everything else is sticky and has to be rubbed with talc powder daily to prevent lint from sticking and shit. the ishades suck too. the exo zip came with my exo flp and is by far the bestthing ive used as an ipod case. (get the belt clip for it too, it fits snugly around the zip plastic. best part is that the plastic doesnt touch the ipod face so scratches + condensation are minimal.

I was thinking....after washing the case thouroughly (they are supposed to smell at first), can't you just rub it in mineral oil, then wash off the excess to fix this problem?

twistrman

i wouldn't go as far as rubbing talc on it everyday, I'm pretty sure that's not good for the silicone. I've had mine in my ipod since i got it, yeah there's a little lint on it, but that's what the case is for....to protect it from crap on it.

Also, mine had that plastic/rubber smell when i first got it, but after a few days it has disappeared.

If you're worried about lint with the iSkin, the site says to use a damp rag on it to remove the lint that's on it. It's easy.

Also, not that much lint sticks to mine anyway, and I have a cat (no, I'm not a crazy cat lady!).

i frikkin hated the smell of my iskin for my 20gig ipod when i first got it - its now almost dec 26th and i still havnt received my exoflip - hopefully it will show up monday

as for the talk powder - silicone needs to breath - give it a week or so of use and abuse and it will become less sticky

Tholek

25-12-2004 20:47:26

I've heard they need a few good washes with soap before you put 'em on.

twistrman

25-12-2004 21:17:50

i have yet to wash mine, it needed to air out a little bit when i first got it. so to warn you on your exoflip, it'll take a couple days to air out.

as for the powder. i still don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure it's bad for silicone and would advise against it. it really seems like it would be bad and possibly break down/weaken the material.

Ok, I didn't notice any smell from my iSkin until I brought it really close to my nose and took a huge whiff. I guess my concern is why are you using it so close to your nose? Unless your ass and your head are switched around...

In all honesty though, it's called a joke! wink

Tholek

Apparently the Lajo cases had a stronger smell (You didn't have to put your nose up to it), although I'm not sure that's still true, as it's not something I'm hearing about lately.

case showed up from china today... heres some quicky first impressions

no bulky packaging like iskin - which not only helps keep costs down but its easier for me to get outta packaging

thinner material - this is good and bad - the skins are not meant to be shock proof - just to stop scratching and what not - the bonus to this is that they are much more flexable

tighter fitting then the iskin - not sure if its due to the thinner material or not - but it def fits like a dream

doesnt smell nearly as bad as the iskin

the clickwheel cover is great, has no affect on the working of the 4g ipod, its semi-transparent, considering i did get it in black and has markings like the normal clickwheel too - which you can kinda see thru the plastic anyway

overall im very impressed and much happier w/ this then the iskin i bought for what is now a friends ipod

btw - i did get the flip bottom one so i can use it in my cradle

how is the color in the click wheel area? does it till look black or is it brownish? i was going to order another case with the flip bottom (but i want the damn flatback, i don't like the raised up area on it) i might do it the next time a kickass sale comes around, i hate paying full price for things

Mike Panic

the wheel area is a thinner area of platic and still looks very black

my only complaint is that the anti-scratch screen isnt as nice as the one you get from iskin
