I still need to do a credit card offer on Bigwin to get the 3K (Vespa). I didn't see any credit cards that really fit me, or any ones I thought I'd get approved for.

I checked the offers on the site a few days ago and I saw a new card - Citi® mtvUTM Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students[=https//citi.bridgetrack.com/usc/05/college/mtvU/affiliates/default.htm?passBT=1&app=COLLEGE&sc=4C7CW235&m=70EK00000CW&langId=EN&siteId=CB&B=V&AID=10395046&PID=1766045&SID=win10414574299303371x&BT_TX=1&ProspectID=68E68E255CE143F8BC29886C8E715B25]Citi® mtvUTM Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students. It's the only card advertized for college students. I'd like to know if it's a good one.

I have a Citi Platinum Plus Mastercard. I like it. One great feature of Citi cards for doing freebie sites is the Virtual Credit Card feature, where you can generate your own one-time use CC numbers with custom credit limits and expiration dates. I generate a new number for each offer, that way if you get a scammer like the LeanLookRX folks who want to charge you almost immediately and refuse to refund, you are protected. Then for those offers that I choose to keep, I either bump up the credit limit on the virtual CC or just update my billing info with the permanent card #.

yeah. this is a great card. I have this card and one other one (citi dividend platinum select card for college students). You get 5% cash back on this card at gas stations, drug stores, and grocery stores and 1% cash back everywhere else.

I use the card you are asking about at restaurants, bookstores, record stores, movie theaters and video rentals stores (the ones you get 5 points for). and the first card for everything else.

If you have these two cards you can maximize your rebates (cash back and giftcards/other rewards with the mtvU card) on everything you buy.

hope this helps

Sounds great, thanks for the info. I got the mtvU card last night.

Do you remember how long it took for you to be approved for the card?
