We got a letter today that said our other house across town was in violation of some "ordianace" because our grass was to long. I volunteered to go mow it so my mom could stay home and continue to remodel our kitchen. I go over with the mower, and start mowing. All of a sudden I see this little tiny tiny rabbit running around. I chase it down, pick it up, and put it in a paper bag with some grass. That way it won't be in the yard so I won't run over it, nor will it be in the street or anything. So I go back to mowing, see another one. I simply chased it into a neighbors yard, and continued. I'm mowing along, and hear this noise like a ran over a twig. I look down, and sure enough some little bunny didn't move out of the way of the mower, and, well, it wasn't a pretty site. It was tramatic, disgusting, and really sad. Here are some pictures of the bunny that I captured and put in the bag

Yea but whats even worse is the people that do things like that on purpose... This guy my dad knew in high school got arrested for animal cruelty one day. One day, he took a stray cat he found in front of his house, took it in the backyard, buried it up to its neck in the dirt, then proceeded to run over its head with the mower... That guy only spent a week in jail.... Bastard...

I hit a squirrel with my car. Shitty thing was that I put the breaks on at the last minute and stopped right on top of it. When I got out (local road) to check if was dead, it was pinned under my tire... (

that guy with the cat is insane.....

i felt so bad just accidentally running over this bunny, I don't know who would be so deranged as to do what he did.

I heard the noise, looked down and immediatly ran to the fence and called my mom. She told me I had to kill it if it wasn't dead, and told me I had to go look. I didn't want to even examine it, but I did go back because if like it's legs were chopped off or something I would have to kill it. turns out it had only 3 legs left and no head......

I'm getting nautious just thinking about it

Man..that sucks...I pick up and throw my cats(I got 8 cats and two dogs and some retarded beta who swims into the back of the tank daily, like head first!) when I see them chasing a bunny...I know my cats will be pissed at me but be fine..and I'd rather that than see these newborn bunnies dead on my back porch...(where my cats leave us presents).

I ran over this dumb squirrel once...I was going...under 5mph...I was in neutral...not even driving, and this dumb things WALKS under my tire. I was going slow enough were I figured...he'd be to the other side of the road b4 I could hit him..if I wanted to! But No this damned thing stayed under my tire! I poped his head! I would normally feel bad, but I mean damn! that thing was retarded! I'm shocked I hadn't seen it fall outa a tree land on his head and get up and run along...liI woulda laughed if I saw that.

My dog killed a raccoon once. It was in our backyard in the tree and my dog(it's a full blood red nose pitbull)was barking like crazy and we knew it was going to get messy if they got into it. Well finally after an hour of barking it starting climbing down and my dog was still read to go, the raccoon tried to jump off a small thin branch. It felt like slow-mo and then it fell about 6 inches short and fell right into my yard. My dog got to it in like 1 second and had it by the stomach and the raccoon was biting at my dog in the ear and cut my dogs ear. The raccoon was getting it's stomach torn up and making these horrible noises.

I seen blood coming from my dogs ear and that's when I had to step in. I choked the raccoon to it's death with a shovel. I really mad it go must faster then if my dog had just keep it up.

I was kinda sad for a while after that since I'd never seen anything like that. I guess that's just nature.

Oh yeah 2 raccons came back once and never after that again.

the grossest part was that there were like just chunks of skull everywhere cause it cut a couple of their heads right in half

Dude, my cat just caught a bat last night and brought it in to us. It's the second bat he's caught, but the thing is, he's an indoor cat. We have an upper floor balcony that's completely screened in so he can go out onto it, without going over the edge or anything.

Somehow, these bats are getting in and he's running around out there catching them in his mouth and bringing them in to show us. The one last night was bleeding on the floor and was alive but not for long so i just had to put him outside in the grass.

I dunno how he gets them but I feel bad for the bats. Their little fuzzy bellies. cry

AND RABBIT!!! GOOD!!!

Southern Fried Rabbit with Spicy Coleslaw

Prep Time30-40 mins Cooking Time25 mins Servings4-6

Recipe Coments
This is an old fashioned recipe with a new fashioned side dish! Plan ahead when using this recipe; rabbit needs to marinate overnight.

Place rabbit pieces in large ziploc bag (or glass pan). Cover with buttermilk, and place in refrigerator for 24 hours.
Heat frying oil in large skillet. (There should be enough oil to cover rabbit 1/2 way when placed in pan.)
Mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic in bowl. Take rabbit out of marinade and dredge in flour mix.
Place rabbit pieces in hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides, at least 2 minutes.
Place rabbit pieces in oven ready pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-18 minutes or until interior temperature is 165 degrees.
Shred 1/2 head of cabbage. Mix with shredded carrot and sliced olives.
In another bowl, mix olive juice, mayoniase, salt and pepper to taste. Pour over cabbage mix. Slice a couple olives to place on top as garnish.

Ingredients

li 1 whole Rabbit, cut into 8 pieces
li 3cups Buttermilk
li 2-3cups Flour
li 2tsp Paprika
li 2tsp Garlic powder
li Salt & Pepper
li 1head Cabbage

It's one thing to live from the fat of the land, but it's another thing to be purposely cruel to animals. Just because someone kills their own food, doesn't mean they have to do it in a babaric way which I think is what most animal-rights activists have a problem with.

You can eat/sell meat without doing it the way some people and/or companies do.

I try to stay out of these debates, but I have to disagree here. I firmly believe that it's wrong to kill an animal just for fun, or for the sake of killing an animal. I eat all kinds of meat, but I still have every right to feel bad for the poor cat who was buried up to its head, and run over with a lawnmower. Heck, I feel bad for the pigs at Oscar Meyer who are put in knee-deep water and then electrocuted, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy throwing a hot dog on the grill and covering it in hot sauce and garlic salt.

Well you contridicited yourself there. You have no right to say "you guys" because you're summing up ~10,000 people. If you originally stated "Anyone who eats meat shouldn't feel bad about animals being abused or hurt", we would still be on the topic of my wittle bunny fwend who was killed.

And even if people do eat meat, they can feel bad about running over a rabbit with a lawnmower or knowing a cat was buried and it's head was run over with a lawnmower. Better yet, I eat meat all the time, I would even feel bad if I sparrow flew into a glass window and snapped it's neck.

Just because I eat meat doesn't mean I don't give a shit aobut what happens to the animals. It doens't mean I don't give a shit that the animals are tortured and slain and hung and torn apart. Sure I feel bad. But what's done is done. It's still going to happen weather I eat meat or not, so why not take advantage of it. It's tastey.

You think that's bad? My cousin ran over someone's cat once. After he ran over it I was like "You idiot! You ran over a cat!".
He then goes "No I didn't! It was a piece of trash or something. Let me prove it to you". So then he puts the car in reverse and runs the over poor thing AGAIN!
After seeing that it was a black cat with a coller on it, the coward just got in the car and drove off.

Do you have trouble sleeping? Are you currently on any prescription medications?

I do have trouble sleeping... I'm not on any meds though.

I always have crazy dreams. Last night I led a samurai army against a dark lord and I cut 3 people in half and stabbed a few people then I died. Then I realized that I was a lego man and everyone else were lego men in a war.

But back on topic... I've never killed any animal besides bugs.

Rabbits taste like chicken, they're not bad.

I had my dog run over by a car when I was 6, it was horrible.

That was the unfunniest and most pointless thing I've ever seen.

[quoteb91d5579b6="mnx12"]Sorry, i read the thread anyway, haha...i dont care that you eat meat, and if you believe in that whole "food chain" bull shit then whatever, not my problem. I am simply saying that if you eat meat than you have no right to feel bad about an animal being hurt. K, now i am really done this time.[/quoteb91d5579b6]

So if I waited for my cow to get really old and arthritic, and checked on him day after day and cared for him like a family member, and then roasted him when he died it would be ok?

What about Kobe beef, those cows live the life of luxury, massages special feeds? Can I eat those and still feel bad a bunny wound up in a mower?

It's one thing to make a decision about a lifestyle for yourself, it is a completely different thing to become a judgmental shithead who dictates their lifestyle to everyone else.

I've had a few nice conversations with you about vegan issues, but you just seem to pounce on the opportunity to feel superior because you don't eat meat. On top of that, you then stick your obnoxious holier then thou comments in and say you won't be replying again, in other words, enjoy my speech there will be no rebuttal. Well, here's a thought for you. I LOVE BEEF, I would climb a fence and stab a cow with a fork and eat that bitch while its heart was still beating, afterwards I would lay back in that field and feel really bad for OMW's mower bunny.

I'm done with you in this thread and won't be replying to you.

I'm off to go read the morality thread cos i'm sure I just broke a rule or two here.

[quotedff62a6ef2="theysayjump"][quotedff62a6ef2="tonydanza92"]my cat has dragged in tons of stuff, from a bat, to plenty of squirrels and birds, plus tons of mice from outside.. even a small possum once. I don't know how she does it, sometimes the stuff is still living (barely) when she drags em in[/quotedff62a6ef2]

Their little fuzzy bellies. cry[/quotedff62a6ef2]

TSJ, you better be careful with bats because they can carry rabies. If you are picking up injured bats and carrying them outside, you can get infected and it's like pretty much fatal once you get symptoms. Only 6 people in the world have ever survived rabies, and they had vaccination. It's a pretty awful way to die, too. Not as bad as ebola, but it still sucks.

This guy my dad knew in high school got arrested for animal cruelty one day. One day, he took a stray cat he found in front of his house, took it in the backyard, buried it up to its neck in the dirt, then proceeded to run over its head with the mower... That guy only spent a week in jail.... Bastard...[/quotebb424dc66a]

Update

The bunny I captured I took home, and made a nice home for little Jennifer. I then realized I didn't want to put up with the damn thing, and changing it's water, buying food, etc....So I drove it to some woods and let her go. I went over the the other house, and the dead bunny had dissapeared, so I'm guessing it made a nice lunch for another animal. I'll miss Jennifer, but I really am to lazy to keep up with a bunny.
