I tried searching for other threads on this, but couldn't find any.. it's amazing how many threads contain those two words.

Anyway, I finally went ahead and installed it -- and I love it. What gadgets are you guys using with it? I'm using What's Hot, Del.icio.us, Google Calendar, US Traffic Information, Photos, Scratchpad, and Weather.. Oh, and I also use Auto-Hide. What about you?

Yep, I made sure to disable that option right away. I also disabled most of the file types to index.

True. When I installed it again last week, I remembered why I uninstalled it last time the index file is approx. 9 GB.

I've tried most of the desktop search programs--X1, Copernic, MSN, and Google Desktop. They all have their advantages, but GD is the quickest and simplest.

Our IT guy tells me we have a license for X1's Enterprise edition...I keep pestering his ass to install it so that I no longer have to keep the index file local. But until then, I guess GD will have to suffice.

I had Google Deskop for a short time last year...but I didn't really use it for anything Konfabulator (now Yahoo! Widget Engine) couldn't do, so I just use YWE now.
