Obviously not.

I'm way excited, but I'm not going to the midnight show. I'll wait until some time passes, so that not many people are there when I go see it. If there is anything about the movies that I hate, it's the damn kids crying or screaming.

Yeah me too. But I don't think there will be many at the midnight showing.

25-05-2006 16:02:42

man, i don't see what is all the hype about x-men. I saw the sentinel scene and i found it to be quite lame. Spiderman 3 on the other hand..ho boy can't wait..

26-05-2006 00:25:37

Just got back from the movie. I thought it was pretty sweet. Could've been better, but sweet none the less. To confirm, there is something after the credits. It's short, but big.

26-05-2006 00:46:43

the 103 min running time didn't matter the movie rocked IMO. Not as good as it could have been, but defiantly awesome
spoiler the post credits scene for those who missed it
[spoiler44f1f62cbc]Man in hospital bed from the begging. We see the doctor come over to check his vitals, and charles speaks from his body. He transferred his consciosnous to the comatose patients body we are left to assume. Also the fact that we didn't see cyclops die, and who the fuck knows when Jean actually dies, on top of magneto gaining his powers back at the end(the drug from leech only lasts temp. on all mutants who take it). Leaves the series wide open for as many sequels as they like. [/spoiler44f1f62cbc]

Godrockdj

26-05-2006 06:51:30

Dang it, I knew we should have stayed around and waited after the credits. Oh well.

[spoilerd34134ee5a]Overall we liked it, but it left many people wanting more. Especially on the Jean/Dark Phoenix storyline. The movie was /not/ true to the comics - there is no way that Dark Phoenix could be overcome so simply like that. She is the most powerful mutant in all of the X universes. I've only read a few of the comics and I know that. Kelsey Grammar was really good as Beast. Juggernaut was very funny P [/spoilerd34134ee5a]

justinag06

26-05-2006 08:33:45

[spoilerf77dee58a6]They had a lot to squeeze in, the movie works for what it is. Also give the man credit for giving each mutent at least one or two cool things that they did. Juggarnaut had his line, wolverine was obviously in the movie plenty and had his share of scenes. Storm could fly, and actually kicked ass. Iceman iced up. I think he did a good job using dark pheonix without having her get in the way of the movie. The downside is so many characters, you blinked and you missed them. Juggarnaut spoke two lines right? Angel like 3? What did he do that we didnt already see in the previews? I don't recall hearing collossus speak except to say rouge took off. Rouge didn't use her powers at all this movie. She was a strong character from the first two, yet was barely utilized in this film. Then you have characters like Psyloche, who looks nothing like she should, and powers were completly different, on top of the fact that her name was never once mentioned. She just dies, character wasted. Beast was good though I agree. I've been waiting since freshman year for this film, and if it had been singer im sure it would have been better, but ratner did the series justice and even excelled in some areas that ratner might not step up to the plate in.

FYI fox announced there is another in the works, barring this movie bombing of course. They said the last stand represents the end of this trilogy. I'm hoping for an apocolypse saga personally, michael clarck duncan anyone?[/spoilerf77dee58a6]

Watched it today. Not too impressed. Some corny lines. [spoiler035136c452]Btw, was that "Juggernaut, bitch" line straight from that movie on YouTube? Also, the girl who played "human" Mystique is hot! (So was that new girl mutant....but that would be illegal) wink[/spoiler035136c452]

IMDB Edit [spoiler035136c452]Wow, didn't even know that was Rebbeca Romijn Stamos playing Mystique shock And btw, that "little girl" is actually 4 months older than me (19) lol wink[/spoiler035136c452]

26-05-2006 23:40:43

[spoiler4b3920c645]I thought the movie was really lame. Professor X's mind in another body? Cyclops and Jean Grey dead (at least assumed so)? Rogue definitely should've had a bigger role, even though they developed her as a teen in the first two. Also, Kitty Pryde and James Madrox/Multiple Man aren't exactly X-Men characters. Kitty was an early X-Man (and not a young girl either), but was moved to the "Excalibur" team. James Madrox is from "X-Factor". Well, this was how it was in the 1990s, I haven't read many comics since then. And Phoenix is an entity that takes over Jean Grey, not something she was born with.

Someone said this above "Jean actually dies, on top of magneto gaining his powers back at the end(the drug from leech only lasts temp. on all mutants who take it).

Can someone confirm "the cure" being a temporary effect? I didn't notice Magneto getting his power back at the end. All I saw was him knocking over the chess piece with his hand.[/spoiler4b3920c645]

[spoiler7a200ccf68]at the end, he has a little bit of his powers back. he moves the magnetic piece with his powers. this shows that the antidote is not permanent.[/spoiler7a200ccf68]

Just came back from seeing it

Btw...This is my first post here )
(former a4f member)

anyway...
He didn't knock it over with his HAND..He knocked it over with magnetics. If you noticed, the pieces looked as though they were of heavy material (a metal...)
meaning he COULD move them...I unfortunately did NOT catch the post credit scene ( and think it may be crucial...

I saw some stuff on MTV about the movie a couple days ago, and they did say the way it ended, it COULD lead to another movie...or possibly even a single character movie such as the Wolverine story etc.

Either not permanent...or not strong enough P..

And its a bit of a tell about the antidote b/c if you notice..when you are near the boy, your powers dont work, but this wears off as you get away from him.

Ugh, I don't know what you people saw in this movie. What a piece of shit.

The only redeeming factors in the movie were Beast during the battle scene and Phoenix's "vaporization technique." And even the latter was only okay.

This movie should have been called "X3 The Last X-men Movie"

There is no way they are making another one after this bomb...

Ha, um, my theater was packed at 11 am, and there is one showing every half hour, each of which will probably be packed. I live in Missouri. That tells you a lot, no bombing going on here.

And to confirm, a Wolverine PREQUEL, and Magneto PREQUEL are both already announced and in the works. Those arent the rumors, the speculation is whether there will be an actual xmen sequel or not.

Yeah, thats how i meant to word it. Its the end of this trilogy, end of this set of characters. Possibility of new X-Men movies with a focus on different characters.

fox confirmed its not the last one. I dont want to dig up the article, but it says pretty much what you're thinking. They said it was called last stand because its the end of this trilogy, but there is definatly a new movie already in the works.

I dont know why they dont shoot these movies like lord of the rings. Just do two or three at once, and save yourself the production costs and long wait times between releases

I liked it a lot...I don't know much about the X-Men stories but this was definitely entertaining and worth the money....My friend filled me in on most of the story line and how it didn't follow the comics really at all, which kinda pissed me off, but I'd recommend it

[quote6c1c84bf73]“It's the conclusion of this trilogy. These three movies work as a trilogy. These characters in this relationship, it's the culmination of that saga. It's the culmination and the resolution of those relationships laid out in the first two movies. That doesn't mean never, I would ever say never again, but I will say that this brings that saga to an end. It's quite the way the last Lord of the Rings, Return of the King, brought that trilogy to a conclusion in terms of those characters, that's what this movie does. It goes all the way back to the first one and rounds off and completes that three-part story”.[/quote6c1c84bf73]
