Surprisingly, Taylor Hicks took the title as American Idol 2006. Think it was a mistake, or does he desearve it?
I wanted him to win, but personally think Katherine should have taken it.

Um, Katherine basically beats the shit out of Taylor, IMO. Not only is she hott, she has a good voice, and is more of the American Idol type. I guess the rest of America doesnt agree, but I dont want to see some retarded grey haired dude dancing all around, I'd much rather Katherine dancing.

Yeah, she should win based on the fact that she's a hot chick dancing around. We don't have THAT on TV already...
Taylor doesn't seem like the American Idol type, but he has a more unique sound than her, and he has a great voice. Her singing was all over the place last night.

Though I'm sure no one would care if someone from the West Coast said anything and it spoiled it for me, which I'm 1 hour behind from the West Coast..
All I'm saying is.. Always use spoiler tags when it comes to a TV show. Just because it finished airing in your area, doesn't mean it's finished airing in other time zones.
... and to be honest, I think you knew exactly what you were doing Wrigley (or PNAA)..

If people dont understand yet that the producers of American Idol fix the voting, they wouldnt know that they thought this would be the best for marketing. They believe Taylor might sell more albums if he is the Idol winner BECAUSE he is less marketable. Katharine on the other hand will sell albums because she is hot.

Kelly has also been in the game longer. Got to give it time for some of the others. Some Im sure though will never obtain a ton of fame. When it comes to American Idol POP wins. Just like Rueben Studdard was forgotten but Clay Aiken wasnt, Taylor will be forgotten and Katharine won't be. POP always wins when it comes to American Idol. Sure he got the majority votes based on live performing when it comes down to the actual songs he records that majority of the audience won't be interested. As well as he has a boring recording voice.

1. Katherine is a so-so singer
2. She's arrogant and has almost no stage presence
3. Most of her votes were coming from people who just think she's "hot"
4. AI really was looking to have Chris the rocker win this year for a bit of a twist
5. While I personally liked Chris and wanted him to win, as a rocker he is basically a dime a dozen in that field
6. Taylor has a unique voice and can do very well in specific arenas
7. He gets into every performance that he does and is unapologetic about his style
8. His win was really needed to shake up the tweener world...

Pshh....Fantasia has had top 20 singles, which isnt easy btw. She has also done a book. Kelly has had an incredible year and has managed to break out of the AI mold and land some Grammys. Clay Aiken surprisingly sold more than the winner of his season, Ruben.

But, I really couldn't stand Katharine. She is so cocky it's not even funny. She cannot take constructive criticism. She rolled her eyes after the judges comments. And couldn't admit when she messed up. She wants to be Mariah Carey but can't. She just tries to outsing everything. If she would just stay in her vocal range then I think she'd be great.
Of the two in the finale, I think the right person won.

Fantasia had like one hit, but I think I heard that shes done the least out of all the winners. Carrie is doing really really well though, shes sold well over 3 million (Bo is still trying to hit 1 million) shes had a hit song, and has one 4 or 5 country awards already.
