I will be leaving town and will need someone to water my plants while I'm gone and want to keep an eye on them. Is there any way to set it up have motion detection and to record to a hard drive or something because it might be a few hours worth of video? I found a bunch of stuff on www.spycameras.com but not sure what I need. Just thought someone on here might know.

And no, I am not putting it in the ladies shower at the gym.

i have a time laps vcr and a miltiplexor. I'm not sure if the VCR still works but the multiplexor does. I'll sell it real cheap cause I wanna get it out of the basement.

it's for when you have more than one camera. i have a 16 channel multiplexor, meaning it will allow 16 cameras.

Can they all record at the same time or is it just one at a time? I know with VCR it is just one at a time but does DVR allow for 2-16 feeds? Do you know how much space I would need on a hard drive per hour of footage?

radio shack vcr triggering camera switcher...which uses their motion cams to start the vcr when the cams get triggered.

actually the multiplexor allows you to video tape all the cameras at the same time with the VCR. So if you have 10 cameras it records all 10. It splits up the screen on the TV into however many cameras you have. If you want the VCR and the Multiplexor I'll send them both your way for $30 shipped. The mtultiplexor was brand new 2 years ago and it was purchased for $215 bucks.

Haha, either your talking about marijuana, or else you have a crazy suspicion that they are going to jizz into your petunias...

Or he's worried they'll steal his stuff. The camera can be trained on more than the plant, you know.

Hmmm. Interesting. Let me think about that. I may take you up on that offer. I am trying to figure out if I can record 3 different cameras at the same time at full res. I would like to record to a hard drive or DVR type storage instead of tape if it is possible and not a huge amount of money. I also need all cameras to be motion activated. I'll definitely get back to you on this.
