So I'm all hyped up and crap, and really excited to see this movie.

I think tomorrow, I'll bring in my cryptex and flash it off to everyone and be like, "look what you didn't get!"

Right now, I'm listening to the Da Vinci Code Soundtrack (off Rhapsody, damn this is the only trial I stuck with for 5 months, hehe) and freaking love it.

The best track is this opera sounding track Poisoned Chalice.

There's a link to the CD for you people. I also have the CD downloaded onto my computer, but haven't stuck it on my iPod yet.

Anyway, is anyone else hyped up and ready to watch DVC?

i blame history

i plan to see it. i bought the book a long time ago, but never read it. it looks pretty good... not as excited for it as i was for V for vendetta, but i am pretty excited.

Ugh, Where's The Double Post Icon When You Need It....

I'm Really Looking Forward To The Movie. Between Tom Hanks And Dan Brown, It's Bound To Be Something Magical. If It's Anything As Good As The Book, I Think I Might See It More The Once.

hehehhehe

When are you going to attempt the google da vinci code puzzle?

Variety is getting lots of press for their...not so positive review on it.

I started reading the book on tuesday and i might finish it tonight, cant put it down! I'll see it in a few weeks

hehehhehe

18-05-2006 20:51:19

Overall reviews are pretty bad, 15% (Just My Luck, a Lindsey Lohan crapfest, is 11%, just for comparison) right now on rottentomatoes. I'm surprised a Ron Howard movie is so badly reviewed.

i dont know about the movie itself but i thinked they picked the perfect cast for the different charecters, totally flawless.

Eh, Tom Hanks doesn't strike me as a Robert Langdon.

Harrison Ford 15 years ago would be nice, I think.

Allen626

It got low ratings

I'm pleasantly surprised by all the negative reviews this film is receiving. But I doubt it will be a complete flop because so many people adore the book.

18-05-2006 23:31:02

Actually as I said in the other DaVinci code thread, I think Ralph Fiennes[=http//imdb.com/name/nm0000146/]Ralph Fiennes would have been the perfect Langdon. Hanks is gonna ruin it for me...I just hope he pulls it off well.

Chex, I too am awaiting the release, but will probably see it on Sat. since I have work in the evening. That's funny that you said you're gonna take your cryptex to the theatre....I was gonna do the same thing. Too bad I was too late for the last puzzle ( Oh well, I guess I can buy one off eBay....

hehehhehe

18-05-2006 23:47:58

And I was saying Audrey Tautou was wrong for the part and reviews seem to say these two have no chemistry whatsoever.

19-05-2006 03:32:30

i was listening to the radio yesterday on my way to work and hear about how a lot of people are protesting this movie, lol. Some foreign relgious guy put up like 200 million for this movie i think. But anyways...i won't be going to the theater to see this...

What kind of puzzles come up? I pretty much know I won't win already, there's always some crazy brilliant guy somewhere... Let us know so we stand a better chance.

Here's another Da Vinci Quest

finished.

I know I didn't win, the puzzles are extremely complex.

The puzzles are the same as the one's we've already done just 10X harder. So just look forward to that.

The puzzle one at the end is constantly changing pictures, but is probably the easiest.

The first one took me the longest, and the second two (the dust one and the arranging paitning one) were about the same level of difficulty.

good luck!

[edit] for the chess puzzle, my puzzle answers were 2-2-4

Just saw it. It was pretty good. I'm glad it followed the book closely. I don't know why the critics gave it such bad reviews shrug The only bad thing was the previews for [i719cb7f061]another[/i719cb7f061] WTC/9-11 movie. Tell me again that Hollywood's not capitalizing on ppl's emotions ?

I hate when they makes movies after I read books.

Green mile for example, loved the book but hated the movie

any many others.

Granted there are plenty of movies that live up to the books (LOTR, and a few others) but they usually kill books for me.

It feels like I went on this whole 8-9 hour journy for nothing because all these other people can watch the movie in 2 hours and get the story without putting in the work....

...I don't know if this makes sense, I'm half sleeping so...

Wolfeman

22-05-2006 02:05:50

Bourne Identity lived up to the book...

The sad thing about the WTC movie is one of the individuals in the movie (of course based on an actual person) is shown in detail in his slow painful death. His wife has requested they change the name so that she and her children never have to deal with seeing something like this, or being talked to about it. The producers have declined this request. She didn't ask for money or air time or anything else, she just asked that they change the name.

EatChex89

25-05-2006 08:25:22

that was a good movie up until the part where they go to roslin chapel, and they killed it.

I think they started killing it when they showed who the teacher really was; that part they deviated from the book too much, and had they stuck to the book's version, I think it would have been alot better.

But yea, the Roslin chapel part was freaking boring.

I was thoroughly disappointed in the movie.

IMHO, the only reason this movie has low ratings is because it made claims which contradict Christian beliefs.

I haven't read the book but my wife and I watched it last night. I thought it was pretty cool although it seemed to go through the story a bit too quickly and explained things in detail to quickly also.

It makes me want to read the book but I feel that I'll have the image in my head of the characters in the book looking like the ones in the movie, instead of my own perception. shrug
