I know about the fake scandisk memory cards for cameras and psps but I see some wireless headsets for my phone and I want one and the price is very cheap compared to retail, are they also bootleg? And are the sellers from the UK and Hong Kong the main ones who sell the copycat items?

I'm going to go ahead and guess that's not authentic BlueTooth. But it's like with fake bracelets, necklaces, sunglasses, purses, etc....nobody can tell the difference, it just might not last as long (because the quality sucks). May as well buy it for the $31 it costs and just see how it works, and see how long it lasts

I doubt that's a fake, actually. It's the fact that it's shipping from Hong Kong and the fact that shipping is so high that accounts for the $1.99 sale price, IMO.

Actually, it's probably legit. It's OEM packaged usually, meaning you don't get a shiny retail package, but it's the same thing. I've ordered numerous Motorola accessories from both eBay and online vendors, at usually less than half of either Motorola's store or my local Cingular store. All have been authentic and worked great. Motorola has a HUGE retail markup on accessories. One place I've ordered a lot of Moto stuff from is http//www.cellularking.com. They used to have an eBay store (maybe still do) that was sometimes cheaper than their website.

I've not bought any Motorola gear from overseas, but I have other brand name stuff such as Sony-brand camcorder batteries. Overseas HK retailers can sell the stuff extra cheap because it's made over there and sells for peanuts. HK shipping isn't that bad either -- I've ordered a few things from HK, paid less than $10 shipping, and received it in 1-2 weeks. One Sony battery I bought sold for $120 at CircuitCity, I got for $45 shipped from HK -- and it was a sealed, retail packaged Sony authentic product. Still works great to this day.
