If any MAC keyboards are USB, there could be Windows drivers for them, but functionality could be an issue with certain keys.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I just basically want the look and feel. You know?

did u even read his post?

fashionjunkee

Yup but I also read about the functionality with the keys. The ideal keyboard would be one that looks and feels like that one but made for a PC. I found a driver but it looks a bit outdated. Plus its 25 bux. Dont know if I wanna dish out 25.00 for a driver that may not work.

maybe he would rather not have a cutesy little toy.

if i had the money, i would love to get a mac and run XP on it. its already pretty amusing having the apple sticker on my laptop. macs are just rather useless unless you are working with video and art. mac fanboys have no comeback when i tell them that i have had no problems with my PC.

anyways, this post made me realize something... i think there would be a market for PC items that look like those available for macs. keyboards, mice, monitors, etc. i figured that they already existed, but i just never looked. surely someone could make a killing selling mac lookalikes?

Dell makes a keyboard that looks very similar to that apple one, but I can't speak to its quality or functionality.

I have that keyboard on one of my Dell's here at work. It's pretty much junk, IMO. It's their cheapest "freebie" keyboard that is included in the base system build now. But I suppose if you like the Mac keyboard you might like it.

I prefer keyboards with a bit of heft that are wireless and/or come with lots of bells & whistles. I'm partial to Logitech myself, I have all Logitech keyboards and mice on my personal stuff.

ooooooooh no it would have to be a two button touch sensitive type thing. i just about stab myself in the eye whenever i go play around in mac stores. i instinctively try to right click, and nothing happens.

Hah I think it would be a market too. Im not a fan of how Mac operates but they sure are good eye candy. User interface and hardware design.

Wired keyboards suck.

A. Mac Keyboards work just fine in Windows XP, they have for many years. The Apple/Command key works as the Windows Key.

B. If you say Macs are only good for audio/graphics, then you have never used them and are just repeating the same bullshlit that you heard the older boys say when you were in junior high. That excuse has been floating around for years and is just stupid and unfounded.

C. Wired keyboards don't suck. They don't suck down batteries. They aren't bothered by interference and they don't waste electricity and create a pile of non-biodegradeble/hazzardous batteries.

If you prefer wireless fine, if you prefer windows boxes fine. But why do people have to be insulting based on preference.

As for the Dell keyboard, yes it does suck. And that's not on preference or bias. I think they look cool as hell. But they are very very light, not very responsive and prone to break often. We have hundreds at work in a pile cause they're either broke or employees didn't like them.

Read the reviews on Amazon like I said, they say the mac keyboard works fine in XP. rolleyes

As for wired vs. wireless keyboards, how often do you move your keyboard? It's idiotic since so many people leave their keyboards in the same spot on their desks most of the time, especially work ones. Wireless mice makes sense since they move constantly.

well, when i was in junior high, only about half, at most, of the student body had computers in their homes. i got mine about halfway though my seventh grade year.
if i remember correctly, the only macs in big circulation at the time were still one unit the cute, colorful, bubbly little iMac. and man were they adorable, but my friend had one, and it was damn near impossible to use. she got that one during our 8th grade year.

and call me a late bloomer, but i didnt pay too much attention to what the boys said at that time. if i did, i would be listening in on skateboarding conversations.

it is true, though, that i base my opinion of macs being good for graphics/video based on what others have said. for all i know, they are COMPLETELY useless. but many mac fans have told me that they are remarkable for those in the graphic design field and not of too much use for a psychology major, and it seems plausable that they are good to have for artistic purposes, so i feel the need to give them credit for that, although my personal experience says they are just pretty useful for getting people to look at you.

but really, i just want to get on the internet. check some forums, check my email, and go to bed. im not about to really care what computer someone wants to use.

Macs used to rule in the desktop publishing and graphics editing market, but no longer. Windows versions of all the same software is available and works as well if not better, plus the hardware is cheaper and faster -- I know of lots of schools and design shops that are ditching most of their Macs for Windows PC's because they get more functionality for less money now.

I love OSX because it's Unix (BSD) based, and I'm a huge linix buff, but it's more of a novelty to me than anything. I run several flavors of linix on my Intel/AMD hardware, faster and cheaper.

But let's not get yet another ugly battle going between the Mac and Windows fanboy's, okay? Okay. To each his own, live and let live, etc. and so forth. There's enough room in the world for everybody. ;)

I move my keyboard quite often.. I have one PC hooked up directly to my 42" HD for PVR purposes and don't need wires when I'm using the keyboard/remote control to control the OS.

seriously why are there still rumors of mac/pc incompatibility?
