Soo all of a sudden a little picture of a File with a exclamation point showed up on the ipod. I tried everything that the apple site says to do, resetting it, all that crap. I called Apple and they said I could purchase a 2 year warrently for 59.99. I want to try formatting the ipod but for some reason it wont let me. I've tried ephpod and a couple others but no luck. Anyone ever seen this?

mm, I'd lurk around the Apple support forums for awhile and see what the other users there say.

If it's completely busted, I'll have it for $75 shipped and find a use for it =P

Do you mean when in itunes and the file gets moved, it says it cant find and and you have to relocate it? Thats the only ! Ive seen near my ipod.

No, I mean on the screen of my ipod it does that, not in iTunes. There's a picture of a file with an exclamation point next to it.

Just put it in disk mode, (center, play/pause for coupla seconds) plug it into your computer, run iPod updater, and Restore your iPod right? If that works, tell me. I got the same folder when I first put Podzilla on my 2gb white nano.

Sad iPod face means it's dead and needs to be serviced (replaced).

The folder with the (!) means that there's a problem with the Hard Drive... Formatting would have been the solution, but since formatting is problematic, you should take it to an Apple Store or call up Apple if there isn't one in your area.

Just so you know, that's the first step to it's death. Mine did that just a few months before it died.

Consider backing up your music.

no youre fine, this happened to the nano i got my sister off freenanos, you go to their site that the folder with the ! tells you which is like apple.com/support and follow the directions there, all you gotta do is reset it like by holding something then something else but all your songs will be gone afterwards but at least itll work
