In response to my receiving my first "+ Karma," I ask the FreeIpodGuide.com community to please elucidate in what sense Karma is being used on this forum? Is this Karma "Good Karma" or "Bad Karma"? Lets take a vote.

I think the person who seems to have run out of arguments in a discussion we were having and is now taking 1 off my karma everyday must think + karma is a good thing.

Personally, I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's nice to be able to add +1 to someone's karma, just for fun, when something unexpected and funny just happened in a thread. Like now +1 to you lol

Ummmm hate to post again so soon here but how did i go from +11 to -41 during the time it took me to type that post? I didn't realize i typed THAT slow (

Apparently someone knows how to glitch the karma rating, and now I'm back to being uncool

Positive karma is good karma. Negative karma is bad karma. It's a way for people who contribute to stand out. Unfortunately it is often abused by users who, for example, disagree with a good point.

/me is the coolest kid in school...cleary. The admin has even blessed me with one of his serially numbered, limited edition replies! ~381/381

Any known vulnerabilities in the Karma mod? Because clearly my going from +11 to -51 in a matter of minutes is not only unlikely, but impossible...there were simply not enough users on at the time.

although the contrary is not true people who disagree with a bad point don't use negative karma, in general they just answer.

If everyone who reads this could just go head and vote...that'd be stellar

I think people are actually voting, but they use your karma instead lol

lol no...someone is glitching the Karma system, therefore giving me a ridiculously negative karma rating. Atleast they are getting pleasure out of it, since they continue to increase my negative karma. But hey, everyone needs an outlet for their anger. I'm glad I could be of service to you....

And by I'm glad I could be of service to you...I mean that whoever it is should probably find a new life because dividing your time between middle school, excessive masturbation, and increasing my negative karma has gotta be overwhelmingly stressful.

Admins and mods can distribute positive and negative karma as they see fit. They are not limited by the one-per-hour rule.

You probably received a ton of negs for karma whoring.

Yea just remember to try not to be stupid ;). I went from -8 to +1 in like a week because I started being helpful and shared a lot of info about the sites and everything. When I first joined mine went from 0 to -7 in like a second. Silly Admin P.

Eh...I really don't mind the karma as long as everyone knows its for some other reason than my being a huge dick )

I'm not so sure I remember typing "grateful" there but hey whatever works lol

That's definitely true.

Also try to refrain from entering discussions with stubborn people as soon as they run out of valid points (which happens very quickly), they turn to attacking your karma. So if karma really means a lot to you, try to be helpful by providing basic information but don't raise larger questions some people have vested interests in.
