Yeah at the Convention Center downtown. Parking is a bitch and SUPER expensive so be forewarned...

Take the metro from somewhere else. Park accross at the mall complex at 7th St Metro Center and cross the street. Go underground, take the blue line going towards Long Beach, get off on the first stop and cross the street. ;) Not much of a hassle, there is a metro waiting to depart every 5 minutes.

Wii are Nintendo. Wii hate our fans. Wii love our kiddie image, and wii are now putting the gravy on it with the Nintendo Wii. Wii sure hope this name doesn't screw us over, considering it's the worth thing ever.

well it's not really a name change, revolution was simply its "code name" similar to how the game cube's "code name" was dolphin before it was called the game cube.

lol maybe it's a marketing scheme, they chose a strange name, knowing that everyone would be talking about it because it is a strange name. hmmmmm it worked with a few brand names shrug

The free crap usually isn't that great and a 2-hour wait to see a 2-min demo that will be on 1000 blogs that night isn't so much fun. Used to be they show it at E3 and you gotta wait a long time to see it again. Now bloggers ruin it shrug

I didn't really like xbox "360" when I first heard it either but now it isn't so bad. But have to agree that wii just doesn't do much for me at all lol.

The 360 kinda made sense if you think about it. Its natural to think high number is better. If it would've been called XBOX2 and the PS3 came out the average non-gamer see its and thinks well the 3 is gotta be better. It puts them on the same "level" with the PS3. I'm sure Wii got a ton of market research but Revolution was a great name since its supposed to "revolutionize" the game console industry. Nintendo Type-R would've been sweet )

Well, you gotta remember that 'Gamecube' sounded really weird when it first came out. On the other and, when I first read 'Wii", I was knocked off my feet. It really does sound lame, and I try to keep an open mind when it comes to a new console launch.

Nintendo is trying to appeal to non-gamers as well as hardcore gamers. The fanboys will definitely buy the Wii. Other people who don't play video games will probably buy a Wii as well. People who are die-hard Sony or XBox fans will just shoot down the Wii, claiming that Nintendo has only kiddie games and it's not powerful, etc. Nintendo has a reputation, ever since the N64, of a "kiddie" console. Nintendo denies this and just claims they're a "fun loving" company. And it's true, a lot of games Nintendo comes out with are really fun (Super Smash? Starfox? MARIO?!). But because the whole system gets a kiddie reputation and the system isn't as powerful as the 360 or PS3, biased fans of Sony and Microsoft are just gonna shoot down the system, and that's losing a HUGE portion of gamers.

"Wii" was a poor choice for the name of the system. The phrase "Nintendo Wii" doesn't particularly roll off the tongue; the two words meld together into 'Nintendowee.' They say that "Revolution expressed our direction, and Wii represents the answer." I believe Nintendo's interpretation of their "Wii" is the direction, and Revolution is the answer... If that makes sense to you guys. The word "Wii" doesn't particularly represent the system, either. The system is sleek and sharp, something that the word "Wii" doesn't take on directly.

I'm sure, however, that if Nintendo keeps pushing the name "Wii" then it will just become second nature to call it the Nintendowee. No more PLAYING WITH YOUR WEE jokes...just like the term iPod.

The controller I'm very VERY excited for. Can't wait for Metroid )
