the ipods, psp, mac mini was a freebie. The monitor cost 400$ and i bought it with money i got from selling my monitor that i got from flatscreens.freepay. It is a niko 26" lcd/hdtv. I bought it on tigerdirect, the price was 50$ lower then it is currently. The dream cast was not a freebie. The mac book pro was purchased with store credit i got from 2 ibooks that were free.

The computer at hte bottom is my regular pc. It runs windows and it shares the monitor with the mini on a kvm switch.

How is that TV? Good picture quality? Is it crystal clear or can you see pixels everywhere? Have you hooked up a 360 to it? Does it look really clear with the computer monitor?

yes it is a video ipod and the dock is a jbl on stage. It acts as a charger and hooks up to the computer. sounds great as well. The newer version has a built in air click.

The components of my system are pretty good, but I obviously need a new entertainment center. Here's what you see

-Sony KDL-V32XBR1 LCD HDTV
-Denon S-301 2.1 home theater system (virtual surround and upscaling DVD player)
-Xbox 360
-Motorola HDTV dual-tuner DVR

If anybody can recommend a good entertainment center (available online for home delivery--I don't have a car), let me know...

I love it. If I had more space, I probably would have gone for a standard setup with separate components (DVD player, receiver, etc.) and a full 5.1 system, but so far everything about it is fantastic.

The speakers are amazing for music. The upscaling DVD player makes standard-def DVDs look great on the HDTV display, and the virtual surround is good for movies. It's supposed to sound like a convincing 5.1 system, but it sounds more like a great 3.1 system.

OK, I like that DVD player a lot. Harmony remotes are the best thing in the fucking world. They are so easy to setup and tweak. I used to have 6 remotes and a sheet of instructions so my friends and family could opperate my system. Harmony, 1-button changes everything to the inputs and correct audio and correct remotes, great thing. I'd love to get an SXRD but I think I'm buying my dad's 62" Mitsubishi DLP[=http//www.mitsubishi-tv.com/televisions/details.asp?id=53]62" Mitsubishi DLP when he moves. I don't know what I'll do about sat/cable HD and a PVR ?

Heres my setup while we house-hunt...I hate appartments/townhouses! Feel like I'm living in a prison! AMD X2 4400+ on the left tower, 2 FreeBSD servers in the middle, wifes machine on the right. There are two versions of the Denon home theater system I have...the S-301 and the S-101. Cnet has a review of the S-301, and it outlines the differences between them if I recall.

Really the only thing my parents have bought is the pool table, I built the poker table myself, and the rest are freebies... fridge I won at afterprom last year, microwave I took from my brother, tv free, tv stand I built, computer free, pop free... so i'm spoiled by myself, not my parents, which is fine with me D

Thanks- I got them on eBay for 250ish. Real DDR doesn't have the back two buttons. These are the mymybox ones and I built the base and polls myself. )

Heh... i like DDR but i'm not THAT hardcore. Can you do heavy and challange modes? I have DDR Extreme 2 and I can do almost every standard and a few heavy.

dmorris - dont get me started about Charter.....had service for about 5 years now they have been out to my house no less than 10 times.......internet line coming into my house is junk, the upstream levels go crazy whenever they feel like it modem just recycles.....call Charter they tell me they have to send someone out "to check the lines at the street" nothing fixes it

Charter sucks.....although I do like the moxi box, if only someone could tell me how to get the content off the moxi box and onto my computer ;)

What would be my best option when wanting to buy a harmony remote?
I have a a 42" Plasma moniter, a Sony surround sound system controlling the volume for all my equipment, a sony DVD-R which is used to send cable to the plasma b/c it's a moniter only, and an xbox 360.
So which Harmony remote do you guys recommend?

I have two 676's. Love them. But I think they've been discontinued and replaced by a different model, at least they weren't on Logitech's download page the other night when I updated my Harmony software.

ALL Harmony remotes have the same IR programming capabilities, in terms of what devices they support. Where they differ is in aesthetics, button styles & layout, LCD type, battery type, and number of LCD buttons. And some support RF in addition to IR. So if the cheapest Harmony you can find has the buttons you need to control your gear, and you don't care about a color LCD, then performance will be exactly the same as a more expensive one.

I went with the 676 because its button layout was more DVR-friendly than the other lower end remotes, and I prefer its separated, rubber button layout to the 800 series of hard buttons with no spacing between them. It's easier to feel your way around in the dark with the wider spaced buttons. I also wasn't crazy about the rechargeable batteries and cradle for the 800 series, because if you forget to dock it and the battery dies, you're stuck until it recharges. I keep a bay charger full of AA and AAA NiMH batteries at all times, so it's an easy matter to swap them out when a remote dies.

Also the 676 comes with 3 different colored faceplates, which I didn't give a rip about at first and just used the default silver. Then I bought my second 676. ) Having different colors makes it easier to keep them separated. They're in separate rooms but you know how remotes tend to wander, and plus I'm usually programming them both at the same time so have both on my desk side-by-side.

How's my setup? I'm thinking of getting a singal color CRT to with it, you know, one that was white and is now light brown, and the only color the sceren gets is green. Plus it has image burn.
