Remembering Columbine

Hello everyone, for those of you who don't know, today (4/20) is the anniversary of the Columbine school shooting that happened around 6 years ago. If we could all take a moment out of our day and give our respects to the victims. Believe it or not, one of the victim's, Rachel Scott, father came and gave a speech at my school last year about Columbine. It was really moving in that half of the attendants were in tears. He talked about how his daughter and other victims had alot of promise and dreams but were cut short. It really was sad.

Yeah, there would've been much more casualties had the shooters' plan worked. The two boys planned to ignite home made bombs they planted in the cafeteria. That way, when the students tried to evacuate in panic, the boys would be standing at the exits ready to kill them as they tried to go by. Since the bombs didn't go off, they went inside and started shooting.

I must say that the two boys really suck in that with all the firepower they had, they only managed to kill 12 people. Very fortunate for us.

i dont like lookin back on things like colombine and 9/11 i think tragedies in the past like that should be left in the past.

and u say what about the victims families, i think they should remembered their deceased ones on their loved days, like bdays and such.

I am an asshole, and admit it. I didn't know, but honestly, what's the point of dwelling on shit forever?

Yes....Columbine was very tragic. I actually lived in Highlands Ranch at the time, only a couple miles from CHS (my neighbors went there). I also went to that famous memorial where that kid sang the "Columbine Song." But....I also don't like dwelling on the past....just focusing on the present/future. And hopefully, this won't happen again.

Every year I have to bite my tongue from going off on a heated debate about Columbine. But let's just say I know who to name my kid after if he is a boy.

i remember that it also triggered a lot of other school shootings in consecutive months after.. with all the media attention it got, some sickos thought the original 2 shooters were heros and copied.
