They've got 9th pick overall, but I hope they don't go QB. They have 5 on the roster, looking to get rid of Harrington. They've got a veteran (Kitna) and youth with potential (McCown and Orlovsky). I've heard rumors of them going for Cutler, but I think they need to go for a defensive playmaker.

Hawk won't be around after the packers pick at 5 so any chance of the Lions getting him would need to involve trading up. I'm a Vikings fan and am really hoping Ernie Sims or Jay Cutler falls to them at 17.

its pre draft hype for contract negotiations.. the texans will choose bush. there would be too much of an outrage if they dont take young or bush. they signed carr to an extension, so it will be bush.
the steelers will draft another star like they always do in the 1st. i have learned to just trust the front office in whoever they choose because he will be good. look at the recent drafts. one bust in about 6 or 7 years. 2 pro bowlers, a star qb, and others current good starters.

yeah I was just saying he is being floated around more.
The saints may take him though, they definatly don't need a quarterback
Wolfeman
20-04-2006 14:27:58
Here is my first ten
1. Texans - Reggie Bush, RB, USC
2. Saints - D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia
3. Titans - Matt Leinart, QB, USC
4. Jets - Mario Williams, DE, N.C. State
5. Packers - A.J. Hawk, OLB, Ohio State
6. 49ers - Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland
7. Raiders - Vince Young, QB, Texas
8. Bills - Brodrick Bunkley, DT, Florida State
9. Lions - Michael Huff, DB, Texas
10. Cardinals - Chad Greenway, OLB, Iowa

Yeah he's a late 1st rounder. No one in the top needs a RB as much as other skill players and this is a very deep draft for good to average RBs so teams are banking on people in later rounds...

Thats awesome! I could see him going as high as 2 or slip to 5 or 6. D'Brickashaw will go top 4 as will Bush and Leinart. If the J-E-T-S, Jets Jets Jets, take Young (dumb), the Packers might take Williams but AJ Hawk fills more of a need shrug

theres a lot of talent in this years draft, and it should be an interesting one to see how it plays out

young and the jets is the dumbest prediction.....most likely....u can ban me forever if im wrong.
ur right too much talent in this years draft....mario would be a 1st pick in another year, alex smith would be a second rounder in this years draft.

last years draft based on pre draft hype and talent was horrible compared to this year.. smith would have been the 4th qb taken this year.. its impossible to tell what the players will actually become though until years later. the 2004 draft was a pretty good one also.

The Packers D has improved soooo much this offseason.
AJ Hawk= Defensive rookie of the year
Wolfeman
29-04-2006 12:17:19
Yeah AJ Hawk, Charles Woodson, Marquand Manuel, Ryan Pickett. They still need a G and WR but there are a lot of good WRs left. I'd say they go WR next and maybe even trade up if some of these guys keep falling...

I'm happy with the Eagles pick. They said he can bench 225lbs 44 reps. Holy sheit. The dude was a beast.
Wolfeman
29-04-2006 12:27:32
Brodrick Bunkley is a freak. He could've went in the top 10 so yeah, the Eagles got a good pick. They really need a WR but there isn't anyone worth taking at 14 shrug

McNair might not be there. Young is like a less athletic Vick. What he did to USC will never happen in the NFL because they will actully spy someone on him. I think Leinart has the best immediate chance of success because he has 2 insanely good WRs and one of the best RBs in the league. They still need o-line help a better TE but they have a great offense. Also, Warner is fragile as glass and I bet Leinart is starting by the end of the year.
justinag06
29-04-2006 14:08:41
it wasnt about what young did to USC
its about what he did all season
yeah leinart will be better quicker, but look at his supporting cast at USC? Anyways I just hate him, I hope he gets injured and winds up living with nick lachey again
Wolfeman
29-04-2006 14:12:24
Don't get me wrong, I hate USC more than anything but as college football goes they have been it for 3 years. I like Cutler will end up being the best QB in this draft...
justinag06
29-04-2006 14:15:06
ive heard skip talk about that for some time now on cold pizza every morning
never seen him play though, guess I'll have to wait and see
Wolfeman
29-04-2006 14:17:06
Thats the thing. He played at a small school in a bad program so he didn't win a lot but he has the best raw talent as a proto-typical pocket passer. I still can't believe the Texans didn't take Bush. Such a poor move...
justinag06
29-04-2006 14:26:16
they have great talent at RB, bush wasnt going to make a huge difference for them
I dont know what the hell they did in this draft though
IMO
they should have either traded carr, or just not signed him
got vince with him being a hometown hero and all.
or
just traded down and pick up some serious talent for their O-line.
anyhow i heard some espn yahoos talking about they have kept a guy on with final say in the draft who is basically a duck. they are going to let him out of the organization in a year. so basically they kept him around so when this pick doesnt pan out they have someone to point the finger at.
I dunno, I dont care about the texans
go cowboys, get a damn kicker!!!
Wolfeman
29-04-2006 14:30:18
Bush is a once in a lifetime pick. Davis is soft and isn't getting any better. It would've been smarter to have taken D'Brickashaw at 2 or 4 and traded to get more picks. Williams won't help them win right away and Bush could've...
