I think srichter does, but does anyone else?

I applied there and was just wondering how you got the job there, minimum age requirements, etc.

Also, what was your starting pay? Discounts/other benefits?

Any help is appreciated.

It's 16 to work the cashier, and you have to either be 18 or work there for 2 years (not sure) to work on the floor. At least that's what it is in my area.

i used to work there...i dont konw what the age requirements were ...but i made 10 an hour....cost + 10% employee discount.

Make sure that if you get to the interview part...tell them that you are totally against stealing....that it doesnt matter if its a cd/dvd/candy bar ...it all hurts the bottom line....that and tell them that you are a team player

I'll be 18 in early July (the 8th), so I guess I can cashier until I turn 18.

my friend works there, and my other friend just interviewed there. they both work/applied for tech repair, and im not sure of the actual pay but my interviewing friend wrote down $13 as the min he want (its what we earn now - we all work together), and they thought that was too high heh.

i applied countless times in high school and finally got 1 interview - which didn't work out cuz my school schedule didn't allow for the shifts they wanted. summertime should be cool for u guys applying )

During the summer I'll be wide open as far as shifts go.

I worked there 7 years ago. I worked in the Media area (movies, music, etc). Since it was a non-sales position it paid lower than the other areas. I started at $6.00 (I live in northern alabama). I was 17.

I always loved when they called a code yellow and all the guys had to run to the front door to stop a shoplifter from leaving the store. good times. )

Minimum age requirements vary from state-to-state.. On average, it's 16. My starting pay was $15.75 (worked at geek squad).. Discounts are not at a fixed rate, they vary from the item.. For example, you won't save shit on computers.. But a new HDTV you will save the most (also, car audio)..

yes, this is what i am talkign about. note, you have to have valid information or you will waste time doing training and then not get your prizes. the prices for shipping have gone up but still an excellent way to get microsoft stuff.

Have an interview today at 200pm for LP. Any tips? Do they ask those stupid "what's your best trait?" "your worst trait?" questions? What do they want to hear for worst trait?

They probably will ask a few of those. My suggestion on the worst trait deal is suggest something truthful but show how you're trying to improve that weak skill.

There is some really interesting stuff discussed there. I subscribe to the RSS feeds for posts about some of the retailers I'm most interested in.

I work at Circuit City. lolz. Starting pay for merch is $7.25 (in most places) and floor sales is $8.75. You don't have be in CDs etc. before you work in sales, as long as you are competant in the subject matter. Not sure why I chimed in here, just bored I guess -P

But yeah, the retailworker.com forums are great.
