anyone try it yet?
quite possibly the most awkward drink i have EVER had.
i expected it to be completely horrid, but i find it quite delicious. its a nice treat. not too sugary, and no diet soda aftertaste (its not diet, but it has apsartame and ace-k listed at the very bottom, as well as only 12g of sugar).

its a coke/coffee blend. it looks just like regular coke... at first, i pictured a watered down dark tan coffee color, the consistency of 1% milk, carbonated, and almost completely opaque. but it is NOT that disgusting. it just looks and feels like coke. i would say the coke/coffee taste is just about 50/50... i can taste the coke perfectly, and well as the coffee. neither flavor overpowers the other.
however, i can do without the $5 4 pack of 8oz bottles, even if they ARE glass. eesh.

nooo it has no stupid flavor! it seriously tastes like coffee and regular coca cola. no mocha. no vanilla. no caramel. no latte. just coke and coffee. like if you mixed coke and black coffee together, cold, and lost no carbonation (its fully carbonated, as if you cracked open a can of coke).

well, my local walmart had the 4 packs. thats the only place i looked.
i was really confused when i first tasted it. it took me a couple sips to decide that i liked it. and this was when it was warm, but poured over ice... its MUCH better when it has been chilled for a while.
my boyfriend tried it, but he hates coffee, and therefore he will not be the primary consumer of coke blak in our household... ha.

I kept my eyes peeled for it to debut locally, and I finally saw a empty bottle in a telephone booth a few days ago. It wasn't until today that I found it in a local supermarket. )
It tastes like a cola mixed with coffee. Just as you'd expect. The closest thing I could compare it to, would be Canfield's chocolate soda, but this is far better.
However, I think Coke should tweak it a bit, adding just a tad more milk/cream, but otherwise it's great. I could certainly down a 20oz, but a 2 liter would go flat before I could finish it. It's just too strong to drink as a standard beverage. I'd buy it as an iced coffee alternative instead.
So far it's only in the classic 8oz bottles (45 calories each). I guess they're testing the market, but the 20oz is the way to go.
Anyone seen the new Dr Pepper Berries n' Cream?

Saw Blak in the store the other day and couldn't figure out what the hell it was so I didn't try. )
The wife and I hate the Berries & Cream Dr. Pepper, but my teenage daughter loves it. We thought we might like it since our favorite soda is Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, but nah. It's too "creamy sweet," like the vanilla overpowers. Much like the new Black Cherry Vanilla coke. The Dr. Pepper cherry vanilla is perfect.

Plus, I feel a little awkward drinking it. The logo is terrible, as is the name Blak (complete with unnecessary accent over the 'a'). Honestly, the packaging reminds me of Sizzurp, that rappers' drink...

As a bottled iced coffee alternative, it would reasonably priced. If it becomes popular, it will get cheaper.

P I drank Surge every once in a while when it was out, but pretty much only because their marketing scheme allowed for me to have an infinite supply of free 20 oz bottles of it. Grabbed a Vault the other day just to give it a shot and it was the same awful taste, yet seemed a bit watered down to me. And now that I can't get it for free anymore, if I ever get a craving for it I'll just lick a sweaty armpit instead P

Clearly Coke included something akin to a cream taste to take the bitterness of the coffee extract down a notch or two. All I'd ask is that they add a bit more of that.

holiday spice was another extremely awkward beverage. i cant say that it was terrible by any means. it really was something to have just once a year, though. heh. if you can imagine the smell of holiday spices... christmas candles, etc... its a distinct smell, i think.... just imagine that, carbonated, and in liquid form. my school has a pepsi contract, and i saw in it the cases one night.... i stood there debating with a cashier whether or not i should try it. i was extremely scared. but i gave it a shot, and i was actually impressed. i am still kicking myself for not picking up a 12 pack when some place was trying to basically throw them away for a dollar.

I hated Pepsi Blue, but Crystal Pepsi was great. It had this slight vanilla-like touch to the cola taste. I don't know if that was intended, but it was great.

I'm sure Vons has it. I got mine at Ralphs when i was in SoCal over the last 14 days.
It's not bad. I had my second one today. If you are expecting anything like a Frappacinno, don't. It's smooth and the coffee taste is actually not bad.
Whatever you do, don't shake it up like a Frapp. When you open the bottle, it will go all over.

As for Crystal Pepsi, it was ok. I loved the SNL take off "Crystal Gravy"
Pepsi Blue wasn't horrible. Raspberry pepsi.
Speaking of raspberry, Dr Pepper Berries n Cream is pretty good.
As for the Coke Blak, i have two more bottles left to see if it sticks.
