Holy shit $125 for a 2 m. long cable. shock Better be unfuckingbelievable quality. Anyways, I would go with this TV also. Looks like a pretty good deal for a 42" plasma under $2k.

HDMI cables send a digital signal...its either there or not there...kindda like HDTV over the air...either your picture is great or you get nothing..
its not like an analog signal where it could loose quality...and before someone says it, yes digital signals can get week, but 2 m will not make a difference
but that is a good deal for the TV

Well I just got back from Circuit City... The only conclusion that I've made is that the people that work there are fucktards. I was in there for about 15 to 20 minutes looking at TVs and didn't get so much as a "hi" let alone "may I help you." Guess they don't work off commission roll
The Samsung in this deal looked blury compared to all the other TVs. Panasonics looked the best. Even the EDTV that was right above the Samsung looked better. Then again I couldn't tell if they looked [id29dbf5660]too[/id29dbf5660] crisp, to the point of being pixelated. I also kept in mind that none of them were necessarily properly tuned and set up ?
Investing this much money, I want to get something nice, not just settle for something at a good price. I don't think I'm going to make a decision in time to jump on this deal. ?
Keep the comments and suggestions (other models, specs to look for, etc) coming! Much appreciated!

You can't go by the hookups in stores like CircuitCity. They are hardly optimal and are often half-assed setup by the clueless people working there. If you have a higher-end hi-fi store like a Tweeter or something that carries this model, you'll probably see a much nicer setup. Then go back to CC to buy if you decide you like it. )
Samsung is an excellent brand but I prefer their DLP's. Panasonic rules the plasma roost while Samsung has the best DLP's. Still I can't image their plasma's would be crap. Check out AVSForum.com in the Samsung or Plasma forum and search (or ask) about that particular model. You will no doubt get some very honest opinons of its performance.
And never NEVER pay that for a cable! Monster cables and the other so-called "premium" cables are complete and utter ripoffs and DO NOT (I repeat DO NOT) work any better than ordinary cables. The hi-fi and A/V forums are full of experts who can explain all that to you. Any engineer or person with a modicum of electronics experience can explain why it's a sham.
I buy all of my cables from
Monoprice.com[=http//www.monoprice.com]Monoprice.com (another favorite of AVSForum). Their cables, including their HDMI cables (of which I have several), are built extra rugged and thick for a fraction of that price. Try
$14 for a 3' HDMI cable[=http//www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024002&p_id=2283&seq=1&format=2&style=]$14 for a 3' HDMI cable that is far better than anything Monster makes. 24AWG, 24k gold connectors, and a net jacket. I have 3 of these in varying lengths and let me tell you, they blow Monster away and you won't find anything built better at ANY price.

Pretty lame that AVSForum requires you to be a premium member to even see the deals forum. Anyone know of a good (free) site/forum to keep up on good Plasma deals? Fatwallet doesn't really seem to be the greatest for TV deals.
