So im wondering. Which way should I go?
I have a 36" flat screen Panasonic Tau which is nice but I really want something big for Gaming and something widescreen. The 36in is fine and I wold still watch tv on it but for Movies and Xbox 360 I want something huge and high def to match my big JBL surround.
Now which was would you go if I wasnt looking to spent huge amount of money (2500+).
How are projectors with gaming? How are the bulb life compared to dlp? Hows plasma or lcd compared to projector or dlp? Good resolution. Give me the complete run down as im thinking of purchasing something in the next few months

well my dad has a DLP projector, he managed to have the bulb last around 5 years, and he watched a fair ammount of tv each night.
The thing is, do you have a room that is dark enough(ie no windows), and big enough so that you can place it far enough back?

Go with the dlp projector. I think the infocus ones are supposed to be pretty good.

Projectors are sweet if you are in the pitch dark. Any light ruins it...
I would have to agree that Infocus makes great DLP projectors for your money.. The bulb lasts on average 2-3 years.
Problems with LCDs as well is, most TVs don't display true black and the refresh rate on some suck bad (prone to jaggies during fast paced scenes)
As for Plasmas... They just look like shit. They look 'pixely'; which may be pleasing for some.. But it just looks horrible. Also, the gas burns out after some odd hours and its irreplaceable..
Only downside to DLP is the replacement of bulbs.. I've had my Samsung 42" DLP set for about a year and it hasn't gone out yet, its still as bright as it was when I took it out of the box.
