Apple has just introduced Boot Camp which allows you to put Windows XP on your Intel-based Mac. This means Apple [i9d28e6831e]officially[/i9d28e6831e] supports Windows on your Mac.
More on it here

Sounds kinda lame of them to me. That's like admitting defeat.

I personally think this sucks ass, cuz next thing you know Microsoft is gunna try to put tiger on the next OS for Windows, and I dont think this is good because I love Mac's and I love their operating system and I dont want to see xp and tiger both on the same machine, I think the two operating systems need to stay separate.

My uncle has been doing this with his intel-mac for awhile now. It's pretty cool.

i think it rocks...and i doubt that microsoft has many intentions to do whatever you were saying. I mean, you do understand that the windows OS and the apple OS are SEPERATE and one is not dependent on teh other. so, microsoft won't be putting "tiger on the next OS for Windows."
i like seeing them both together, and understand why it is being done. the only reason apple is having so much trouble getting into the market right now is due to the fact that microsoft controls 90% of all the OS's on computers. now, people will be able to use the apple OS, while still being able to return to their familar Windows OS.
'sides...Longhorn should be coming out soon-ish. (december, right?)

I like OSX and would probably use it for my day-to-day stuff but if I need Windows for a game or something I want it available...

Yeah, if people are pony up extra cash to get Apple hardware to be able to run dual boot, Apple sales are going to do pretty well and it will increase their user base. If they don't do it, someone else will do it anyway (not the hacked way that already exists but a commercial one).

If their is an Apple supported way to dual boot, I'd consider getting a MacBook...

No. It means that Windows software will work on a Mac, assuming you buy & install a copy of Windows and choose to boot with it instead of OSX.

This is great. I was afraid that in the future for school or work I would need software that does not work in os x. Now if it comes to that I can just boot in to XP )
