The iPod headphones always fall out of my ears when I'm walking, smiling, talking, etc., and hurt when I adjust them in.

What are some other headphones/ear phones I can get in the 50$ or less price range?

The Shure E2c are only $100...

I have the same problem. The iTunes ear plugs don't fit my ear and fall out whenever I move. I just stick with my old headphones.

I don't know why that site says its $109. It's more like $86 on amazon. Go to Amazon, type in Shure in the search. Its the first one. There are also other, more expensive in the same line.

Wolfeman

Well $109 direct from them. I have the Shure E3c and they are amazing...

Are there any DIY sites that offer them?

I have a pair of Sony Street Style headphones. I don't have the model number handy but they are cheap, durable, and sound good.

Thank you sir. I'd love an expensive pair of ear buds... but I don't want to pay for a set P

I second Wolfe's suggestion on the Shure E3c. If you like quality, you'll like these... they cost, but it's a nice experience.

If you don't have the money for those and want something better but not bank-breaking, then try these.

Also, the Sony headphones that Jake might have been referring to was the Sony MDR-EX71SL. I don't have these, but have tried them and they are not bad. Currently, they are $30 from amazon.com

The SONY 81's are supposedly better than those 71's, and I ended up returning them because the treble was too high. It was shrill as hell.

I can't afford SHURE or Etymotics, but I'd get them if I could afford them.

Hmm looks legit.. Lots of posts about them in the brag bag

Nimh

Yes, TheFreeProject is legit. I actually ordered a set of the Bose Triports from them. They're shipping around the 10th. They only ship like once a month tho, just so you know.

I might actually do the Headphones one again (they said I could) for the Shure E4Cs. 6 referrals...not bad at all.

Yeah, thefreeproject is legit.

If your looking for cheap but good I would recommend the griffin ones chillywilly mentioned I have them and they work great.

You didn't like those? Mine work great. The highs are fine along with decent mids and enough bass for a pair of small headphones.

Very strange.

There was one thing about the Sony 71's that I didn't like... they fit too good in my ear. They did a good job of blocking outside noise, but for some reason, they fit so well in my ear canal that in varying states of pressure, my ears actually started to clog up. Like there was no air getting to them to "pop". Does that make sense?

The Griffin ones seem to be the best for general use and the Shure's stay at home. I also use the ones that came with my PSP with the Griffin Ear Jams attached to them. The cable is short, so it makes it nice to not have a bunch of slack when I carry my iPod on my belt.

I love my Sony 71s... Don't pay for more expensive earphones until you have tried these, if you don't like them return them. I have no need or desire to purchase better earbuds and for 30 bucks, I'm pleased.

Like I said, the 81s are better than the 71s, and the highs were too high. If it weren't for that, I'd have kept them. (

So close...

I was mistaken about the model number for my headphones. The ones that I have are below and cost less than $30. I recommend them. They sound good and aren't ear buds. Sony MDRG54LP

Ah. Well, I hate headbands that go behind the neck (drive me nuts). I'd only go canalphones or full cups from this point onward. The high-end stuff only comes in those styles.

Ah I see.

The headband around the neck doesn't bother me so much and if I really need high end headphones, I'll pull out my DJ/studio pair.

Lately, I've liked the ear bubs, but I'll have to try those you have, Jake.

I normally have 3 pairs... one for mowing the lawn or outdoors use. Once for the house (the Shure works for this) and a general pair that gets used all over the place.

If you are going to use headphones to mow the lawn, get something that will cover your ears entirely - unless you have a quiet lawnmower. The ones that I recommended will not filter out the noise well enough for that purpose.
