I want to know what a good scary movie to rent is, I'm goin to my GF's house and we are going to watch one... she has Direct TV so we can do any of those movies that you can rent, or I can get one at the local movie rental... suggestions on what to get?

How about the excercism of Emily Rose or whatever that is called, is it good? I Have about 20-30 Min before i'll leave so let me know if you've got a good one! Winner gets Plus Karma! haha

IMO there has never been a scarier movie than the original Exorcist. But you've probably seen it.

Very very few horror movies have ever actually scared me, in fact the Exorcist is the only one that comes to mind, so it's hard to recommend something as "scary." But if you haven't seen it and you grew up in any sort of religious household like I did, the Exorcist gets my vote.

The Shining with Jack Nicolsan

hehehhehe

I thought Wolf Creek was good, it's not exactly the regular horror movie though, but that's what's so disturbing about it. I might end up seeing emily rose but it seems to be too hollywood-ized.

That's a good suggestion too. Not what I'd consider really scary, but pretty creepy nonetheless.

idk, I have never seen a scary movie that scared me, I think they are funny and predictable... just fun to watch with my gf who thinks she can't be scared, all the sudden i yell in her ear or something and watch her jump and then say "I wasn't scared, you just ummmm startled me" or somethin like that )

Event Horizon is creepy and scary. Um, Saw? That was good...

Derailed was pretty suspensful and creepy.......not a bad movie.

AMITYVILLE HORROR WAS RIDICULOUSLY SCARY, and I've seen it 3 times and I still get all tense and nervous

Emily Rose kind of sucked............

The Nick Of Time was pretty scary also

Some other suggestions that were OK.... Flightplan, Red Eye, Hostile, but that's not out to rent yet.

I never saw the big deal about The Exorcist although my parents loved the bastard.

I can't really say I've seen movies that scare me, like horror movies, the movies or shows that tend to "scare" me are the ones that depict something real or going on (politics, conspiracies, corruption, war etc).

I'd say the best "horror" movie I've seen in the past few years would either be 28 Days Later or Saw.

Both amazing films, original and entertaining.

28 Days Later rocked! I hate slasher movies and regular "horror" films. I like thrillers more...

Yeah I'm not into Zombie films since they're too cliched now, but 28 Days Later was really well done and took it away from the stereotypical Zombie movie.

Yeah. Like Dawn of the Dead was a pile of crap IMO...

Which Dawn of the Dead? The remake was shit but the original was fried gold.

Wolfeman

01-04-2006 17:27:40

The remake.

I also thought those Rob Zombie movies (House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects) sucked too...

I'd recommend Amityville Horror (the new one).

Ooh, another good suggestion. I completely forgot about The Grudge. That one was very creepy, especially at night in a dark room.

That one movie was real scary, damn i forget the name of it was out about 2/3 years ago about a movie of zombies somehow got here and it like infect the whole world by biting them. Only a few people were left and they had to keep moving around etc at the ending it shows the people on a hill in a house i think?

It was "rage" the disease right?

What was the name of this movie

nope something else, was good as hell around 3/4 years. When you were infected with this rage you would start attacking other people that didnt have it. They would go in groups etc.

Its 28 Days Later.

Shaun of the Dead is an awesome movie but more funny than scary...

Although I'm a little late, some good horror flicks are The Shining, The Ring, and all 3 Hannibal movies (Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal).

emily rose was only scary to me b/c the shit could actually happen imo. thats the biggest scare factor for me, 28 days later was badass, i got to see before it was in theaters b/c it was released overseas first, and it dominated all the other zombie movies that tried to follow it.

honestly if im going to go to a girls house to watch a movie, i wouldnt pick a good one b/c most likely were not gonna watch it )
