What is the cheapest way to get money out of my prepaid igiftcard debit card?

tonydanza92

30-03-2006 10:47:30

I know for icard giftcards it is $2.50 per ATM transaction

It sucks but not too bad

bsi4063

30-03-2006 11:20:37

Isnt it $2.50 for their fee plus $2.50 for the bank owners fee?

And will I be able to take out $750 in one shot?

Cause if I can take out $750 w/ONLY a $2.50 and not $5.00 in fees ill be happy to do that I suppose.

Go to a Target by a cheap pack of gum (like 25 cents) and than can get up to $50 cash out. The $50 gose on like you bought something for $50 and than they just give you cash. Every target near me dose that but you might wanna check and make sure yours dose first. Its not just targets that do that most places do.

Find a friend at a small gas station that uses a old credit card scanner. We have one at my gas station, and I even use it for friends with REAL credit cards, not just debit cards as an ATM...there's no fee, and it's not considered cash advance.

bsi4063

30-03-2006 11:48:50

dont have a friend that at a gas station. And what is this about the gum thing at target? How do I go about doing it? Can you elaborate more?

1. Buy gum
2. Withdraw as much cash as you can
3. Eat gum
4. Buy as many hookers as possible with newly withdrawn cash.

Most self-service card swipe terminals at store registers let you get cash back free of ATM fees. You have to run it as a debit card and enter a PIN, you can't run it as credit and get cash back. You key in the PIN and it asks how much cash you want back. However most stores limit you to smaller amounts of cash back per transaction, maybe $50 if that much.

But then ill probably end up paying a debit card use fee...how much is that usually?

Jesus christ dude its like $5 bucks most to withdraw it from the atm. The time you spent posting in this topic could have made you $5 bucks.

I have NEVER had to pay a fee to get cash back from a device at a register in a store. NEVER.

iGIFTCARDs has a limit of withdrawing $250 for any 24hr period. So taking out $750 tends to come out to $15. Thats why I go the cheapest route possible. If you guys would just post the kiosk method and what stores in the NYC area besides target cause they dont have self-serve kiosks I wouldnt mind. That $15 I could save could for to do another site for me.

are you fucking kidding me? you are going to complain because it will cost you $3.75 to get $750 off of a gift card??? You are rediculous, your bank is going to say no, $3.75 for that much money off of a gift card is great... you need to take what you can get and quit complaining...

Alright. My local grocery store allows you to get $100 cash back when you make any purchase. (it is free for purchases for the icards right?). So if you buy a $.25 gum pack and choose 100 cash back then the purchase would show up as 100.25. It would not count as a withdraw.

Is there a daily spend limit or it just withdraw limit?

daily spend limit is $10,000... and why don't you just buy 5 cent pieces of gum, actually, I think their 3 cents at my grocery store... but really, if you get over 745 you should be pleased...

Hurleybird247

Wow, I'm pretty sure that unless you are buying drugs, you won't need all 750 in cash! so just take the 2.50 fee like I did, take out $100, and do this like everyday. So I guess if you really need cash for whatever it is you need, you'll just have to accept the $15 charge, or just use the debit card as you should on purchases, instead of cash!

There are 2 free ways
#1Get a CASH ADVANCE at your BANK. Your limited to only $250 per day. Some banks offer free cash advance, and since its a prepaid debit card with funds already in it there is no real loaning.

#2 OVERPAY a BILL and ask for a REFUND Check
exI overpaid my Cingular bill to $650..kept $150 on my card, but had another prepaid $150gc. AnyHOW. Overpay the bill then 3-4days later call in and tell them you want a refund check for it. My refund check has already been shipped.

i would much rather walk up to an ATM and pay 2.50$ card fee and 2$ atm fee and withdraw 740$ than have a few dollars left on the card. with the few dollars left on the card go to a site like instantprofitz and do a few offers for money that are free trials. and u just covered the fees u had to pay plus some.

I have the WiredPlastic Prepaid Visa which I use for trades and it only costs .75 cents when I withdraw from an ATM. I usually dont withdraw, I have a real bank account for that. I just use the money I make online to buy stuff. I always use credit so it doesnt charge my account.

No one likes whiners and you sir, are just that. How would you feel if someone asked for your help and you gave it, only to be told it wasn't good enough? That's a kick in the balls (assuming that you or I had any).

It doesn't feel good to give out help when it's spit back in your face. Right now, you not only came out as a whiner, you came out as an ass.

THAT is why people are pissed.

What I don't get is that he stressed that he couldn't afford to lost ANY money on the deal, not even a few bucks. That implies that he was in a big hurry for a set amount of cash. Then he goes through the whole check/refund scheme which will take weeks. In that time I'm sure he could have scrounged another $5 to cover his ATM fees. Like, wash my truck or something... roll

bsi4063

05-04-2006 14:43:23

Yea thanks for your gum idea. Well obviously it didnt work in my area. And the check thing takes less than 1 week.

And you know what don't ostracize me. I bet after I told how to get the money out fee-free, SOOO many people will USE THAT METHOD.

I think most people will cut there $15 losses, or $3.50 losses for gum or ATM instead of releying on someone else to send them a check or getting a cash advance which lots of banks won't do from debit (since you have to put your pin and the card won't work then...)

if you havent done it then you dont know. people have done it on these prepaids. im giving an alternative even cheaper, in this case free method to get out the full amount. you can either use it or use the many other methods. it all depends on how you value your money.
