So i have the ipod here and want to take it on my montreal trip so i dont go nuts.

How do i put on music and movies??

It plays mp3's right? Not some wma apple format correct?

Also i have tons and tons of Divx/AVI etc videos and tv shows on my computer and want to put them on the pod. How do i do this? Give me the complete run down including settings of conversion etc.

If anyone can aim Mikefnmpatton, that would be great.

Everything uses iTunes to get it onto the iPod. Install iTunes and start adding songs to the library.

As for converting videos. I suggest the following Moviepod

http//www.nullriver.com

I've used this (not on my iPod 5G, but a friends) and it's perfect for converting videos to the iPod.

If you are looking for free, then the Videora is not bad.

I just like the smooth interface of the MoviePod, and the fact that it interacts with iTunes.

Compression ratios will determine how small each file is, but both programs should work well for the Family Guy AVIs

See a problem i see with itunes since ive read what it does is that it auto syncs my ipod with music on my computer. I HAVE over 400+ gigs!!!!

Can i choose what files to more or not with ituned?

Go to options and click the iPod tab, and uncheck auto-sync...I think that's where it's at. Look in every tab just in case.

set your ipod to manually manage songs. Then you can just drag onto the iPod what you want. (instead of everything in your library going over)
