Ok, so I'm bringing some vodka down to Florida for spring break, a half to be exact.
I looked on the TSA's website and it says up to 5 liters may go unchecked (a half is 1.75 or so).
Has anyone underage brought alcohol and just put it in their luggage that goes under the plane? My friend is going to bring mine and what he was thinking is just putting it in Scope bottles and putting some green food coloring in the bottle, but if someone has a better idea, I'd like to know it.
Any rules/regulations I should know about?

What about taking Dasani water bottles, filling them up, then burning the cap back together so it doesn't look opened?
If you really need the alcohol, and judging from the thread that you do, why don't you just buy it down there.
And the principal of the thing is your age. You're not even legal to be cigarettes.

When my GF and were flying to a wedding carrying on a case of wine, we had to show ID, 3 times. And then they split up our case between the two of us, so we would be under the TSA limit carry limit.

I've flown a ton of times this year and every time I've had my luggage checked by the "random" bag checks. You don't want them thinking its something else like liquid explosive or lighter fluid.

When i was 16 i snook a bottle of rum from the virgin islands to the US. I put it in my backpack that was xray'ed quite a few times...one time i swear they new what it was and the chick looked at me funny but didn't say anything...got wasted with it the next day

stop being a pussy and just do it. If they ask any questions just say your bringing it as a gift for your older brother. Chances are if you check it in nothing will happen. In the extreme case you get asked questions just act innocent as if you were unaware you were doing something wrong.
Doubt they'll try to arrest you and make you appear in court for an unopen bottle of alchol when they don't even have proof you consumed any of it. Worst case scenario they'll just confiscate the bottle. If your still scared then just don't do it and get down to where ever your going and test your luck on finding someone older to buy some for you/

Not that I condone underage drinking, I think the above is the best advice. There's a pretty good chance if you are going to a place where there is Spring Break activities going on, there will be alcohol flowing.
Taking alcohol on a plane without someone who is actually 21 or older, is a very bad idea.

This is what happens if your caught. your Alcohol gets confiscated and depending on how they feel they might or might not do something to you.
Since in PR and maybe VI the legal drinking age is 18 you might have a case coming from there to the states that you thought itd be perfectly fine and what not, but then again PR is a commonwealth and not a state. SO GL..if you wanted to get hammered why not go to PR taxfree and get legally hammered.

You can bring 2 bottles of alcohol back from europe even if you are underage. They never said anything about it at the airport. I am sure they do not worry at all about your age, I would not worry about it in the least bit. But if you are just throw it into a rubbing alcohol bottle or something (like the scopes).

I do not condone underage drinking at all and don't think you should risk legal action at the airport for a half of vodka. However, just because I don't condone it, isn't going to stop you from doing it so here is my take on what you should do if you're going to do it. Just ship it to the hotel. Label it with your name and arrival date on it and put guest in big letters somewhere. I worked as a bellman at Sheraton and Marriott for 3 years and we got packages for guests all the time. When they checked in we would give them the package and they would go to there room. It is very common for guests to send stuff to themselves ahead of time to the hotel. They won't even think twice about, or wonder what it is, they will just give it to you.

the onyl rule i know about alcohol is u cant have an open container. when i went to europe a few summers ago i walked onto the airplan with a bottle of spiced rum in my sweatshirt pocket, the security lady asked wat it was, i took it out showed it to her than she handed it back. it was sweet, my freind had an open bottle of henessey so they took it from him.
its way more relaxed in europe though, im sure u can send the bottle in ur checked luggage no rule against that, they dnt know ur underage. and theirs nothing illegal about bringing alcohol to where u go
If you were 21 or over, you would have no problems.
However, since you are not and if you do get caught; you will be charged with 'Minor in Possession'. Now, whether you would get charged at the state level or at the federal level, I'm not sure.

I agree with buying it down there. Save what you got for when you are home and need alcohol one night. Just ask someone, especially during spring break in Florida, and they will buy it for you. Tell them they can keep the change. It's a lot easier than having to be paranoid the whole time you are flying and going through airports.

1.) Vodka ignites, and I can just picture you trying to burn the cap on with a lighter or something and instead of it being a bottle of stoli it becomes a malitov cocktail.
2.) You want to burn a cap on to a bottle in what could appear to be a bottle of fuel? You would not only be pulled off the plane if they did a check, but would also go thru a body cavity search, but would probably be heald for questioning for a couple days.
The only way I could see this idea being worse is if you were of Middle Eastern decent, because you know how those TSA employees are.

Last year I brought a few bottles of rum back from Puerto Rico, one of which was even opened. I went through customs, where they rummaged through my bag and didn't say a word, nor ID me. I then proceeded to check the bag, fly home, grab the bag, and enjoy my Don Q.
If you can't handle that, just don't take it (who cares that you already bought it.. it's not gonna go bad), and get some alcohol down there.

Damn its not that hard, just hang out around your hotel and ask someone to buy it for you. Even many adults would do this for you because they used to do it too. I think you are thinking to much about what might happen. Oh and airport security usually has more things to worry about than a kid with some booze...like my grandma maybe having a bomb. Also, I think Florida would be alot like Oklahoma when it comes to self check, I would HIGHLY suggest NOT doing the self check. It will get you caught, embarrassed and possibly put in jail for a few hours. But hey thats my take on it...let us know what happens.

it's really not that hard...read what I said...they seriously don't care...it's airline officials, not the law...if you had a bomb or a gun, yeh that's one thing, but it's a small amount of liquor (5 bottles is a little bit) they don't cross match bags...if it were drugs, yes. They'll assume you're an adult and you'll be good.
Remember, these people lose luggages and damage shit everyday...they don't care about bottles of liquor.

If your bag is randomly searched I doubt they'd crosscheck age just for a unopened bottle of vodka, the tsa has got more important things to do than play liquer patrol. worst case scenario, it gets confiscated and you easily obtain more alcohol down sur.
heres the real question... i'm flying back to the states from costa rica soon and i want to bring some stuff back. the costa rican liquor i'm not worried about, i am however a little apprehensive about smuggling Havana Club Rum and maybe some cigars. Tsa might not like that one bit

I say go for it. I was just in Daytona Beach for Spring Break and brought back 4 fifths with me in my bag (surprise none of them were broken) and I had no problems. And I went to Spain last Summer and brought back a bunch of bottles of wine and absinthe and had no problems either.

The vodka in the shampoo bottle was awful, I ended up throwing it out.
Funny story though, my mom was like "tyler, something leaked". I was like OH FUCK!! Then she opened the bag with the vodka in it, took the bottle WITH THE VODKA out, and was like "I told you I brought shampoo." I was like, yeah, but I felt like bringing my own.

well I would assume that impersonating and/or carrying a false identification is a much more severe charge than being caught as a minor with possession of alchohol.

i wouldnt see it being a problem as long as it was brand new and unopened. I think it has to be a minor in possesion of an opened container to be against the law...i could be wrong. Just say your uncle in florida collects vodka, they cant arrest you for that, it may or may not be the truth. The worse that could happen is they take it from you.

The vodka I had was Smirnoff Triple Distilled, not the best, but not bad either.
I also got to try Grey Goose for the first time, that shit is awesome.
I drank way too much last night, ended up throwing up all over the bathroom in our condo. I don't even know what I drank, I had like 1 shot of Grey Goose (maybe 2?), 2 bottled margaritas, and then some more vodka down on the beach that I got from some kids at my school.
Then, I got to get up at 6am, fly out of Sarasota to Detroit through turbulence, and drive 3 hours home from Detroit.
I suppose that's what I get though.

Yeah, got home around 3 this afternoon.
I'll be sure to try the Peach Swishers, but I really like the Tequila flavored ones.
My jackass friends broke my last 3 PFunks when I was drunk Thursday night, but luckily some guy had a ton of Camel Lights and I was able to bum a few off him. Then, another guy I know whose grandpa is fucking loaded (he owns a ton of Pizza Huts) gave the guy a card for a free pizza for a few more cigs.

I went on a cruise for spring break and they actually search everything (my friend got a water bottle of rum taken away), but I put it in a mouth wash bottle and it was fine. We stopped in Jamaica one day and we needed more booze so I stopped at a duty free store and the guy hooked me up with the worst booze I have ever tasted in my life.
Don't ever drink this stuff, unless you just want to get completely shitfaced and pass out, it's 126 proof rum

Just ship it to the hotel you are staying at through UPS. You can get away with shipping anything through UPS as long as you do not have to go through customs, and I mean ANYTHING (including drugs). However, The UPS Store will not pack a box containing alcohol but if you pack it yourself you will be fine. Hope that helps.
