I have three created GMail invite links that I need to use before they expire, and I've got three more invites as well. Anyone want one please post or PM me, and remember that Hotmail blocks invites. roll

[edit]
I now have NINE invites. For the love of all things good and holy will someone PLEASE take them?

I've had people send me invites before to my hotmail address and got them just fine.

It doesn't matter if Hotmail blocks, what you can do is send the invite, go to 'Sent' and read the invite and just give the person the link, I usually just send 6 invites to a bogus email address and then just store all the invite links in a file and give them out from there.

By using gmail. They used to be hard to come by. People speculated that the more MB you transfer through the system, the more chances you get for invites. Most everyone got one within their first week. I got two in the beginning. Now, nearly everyone seems to have six. I got six two weeks ago, gave out two, and went down to four. Next morning I had six again. Gave out two last week, down to four, back up to the six next day.

Supply has definitely caught up with demand, and it makes you think Google is getting ready to officially launch it (from beta). They've tweaked some things, the most important IMO is placing ads at the bottom of messages now instead of at their side (which sometimes sat on top of HTML tables accidentally).

If you don't have an account, you definitely need to try it out. It's super-slick. I use my one account for all of my personal and work correspondance. The interface is lightning fast, the spam filter is unequaled, and the message grouping is the best of its kind.

Well said Da... Gmail is by far my favorite web based email system. But I wanted to bring up the one thing you didnt mention... The gmail notifier, one of the things I like most... It tells you when you have new mail... and I dont have a messanger attached, such as MSN Messanger or Yahoo Messanger to use it... Also its the only that I know of that opens a compose message page when you click an email link... Good job stomping the compitition google...

The notifier is great until you install it on a multi-user XP machine. Then, it runs fine under the login it was installed with, but on every other, it crashes upon startup. A minor annoyance, but still..

TIP If you have the notifier installed and you've got the new Firefox 1.0PR, hit Ctrl-M. (you'll thank me later!)

I dont use Firefox... Im fine with IE, I dont see any MAJOR problems, I have the yahoo toolbar which gets rid of popups, I disabled activeX altogether... So I dont get those annoying yes/no install this Adware boxes... The biggest reason I dont use Firefox is cuz so many people design their pages without Firefox users in mind... For example Freeipods.com... I just dont see any major reason why to change...

I used IE for a long time. Then I used Phoenix. Then Firebird. Then Opera 6 & 7 & 7.5. I got so used to opera that when Firebird turned into Firefox, I didn't pay any notice. It took me a long time to finally switch, but i'm glad I did.

I might not convince you to change, but I can at least tell you reasons why I use it
[listda81ec5cfc]Built-in google and popup blocking, right out of the box
Near-instant load. IE takes at least four seconds to open a new window on my (relatively fast) machine
Tabbed browsing
Vast developer support with crazily useful plugins (check out http//texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/[]http//texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/)
Because i'm smart )
[/listuda81ec5cfc]

I keep IE handy in the case of some sites, but Firefox is standards-compliant. It's not its fault that people develop propreitary sites.

Skins... Theres a reason I might switch... I found an IE skin I really like... LEts see if Firefox has a nice one... What I really want is a good mail client... I love MSN Explorer... Had a nice interface, and a good way of seperating all of my different email accounts and spam filters... Outlook has none of thse things... All inbound emails go into the inbox, no spam filters, and the interface sucks... I didnt like thunderbird either... I want MSN back, but I dont want to have to pay for it, I dont like it THAT much...

Are you talking about outlook or outlook express. outlook express is crap but outlook does have spam filters and can put emails to different accounts in different folders. Not saying it's the best but it CAN do those things.
