ok, I'm a noob to audio. I have this old 500 watt surround sound system I want to set as my computer speakers. The model is STR-K502P. I do not have a sound card (yet?), I have the standard inputs behind my computer that will take normal speakers and headphones, etc.
Here is more information/pictures of my surround sound system

if your wanting to hook your comp up to that, i think that is what you wanted... You need to get a mini to rca converter, like 6 bucks at best buy. They look like this http//www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2110460&cp=&kw=mini+rca&parentPage=search
Hook the rca up into the aux and the mini into your comp headphone jack, then treat it like any normal hook up. That is what i do for my lappy

Absolutely perfect, like cd quality. I also did this in my car to hook my ipod up in there.

I've got a cheap (RadioShack Brand) version of that, and the quality is just fine. I imagine that the Monstor one will have pretty good quality.

Yeah, definately buy the cheapest one you can find. Thats just the first one i could find. Also you will probably keep your comp volume up all the way so you can control the volume with the reciever
