I have an E815 - looking for a bluetooth headset/earpiece.

I know there are different levels of them. My needs are for keeping the phone in my pocket or in one part of my house (less than 15 feet - though bricks walls) and being able to walk around with the headset.

Any recommendations? I don't need glitz and glam, just a functional headset, though lighter would be better. HS850 v HS805 right?

I love the motorola headsets. I have been using the HS810. I love it. I am probably going to upgrade to the HS850.

Ended up with a HS850. I bought a used one from eBay and had it replaced under warranty for a brand new one. It's pretty slick. Now I just need to teach the phone some voice commands for common numbers.

Now that I've paired the headset, I need to turn off bluetooth in a setting if I want to just use the phone by itself, right? Can I set a shortcut to that function in the E815?

With my phone at least (Cingular 8125 Smartphone) you just turn off the headset to use the phone itself, you don't have to disable Bluetooth. If the headset is turned on, however, the phone speaker/mic will not work. This is annoying with my HS805 because I usually carry it in a shirt or pants pocket and it often winds up getting turned on accidentally (the button is too easy to press), then I go to use my phone and it doesn't work. I've been thinking about an HS850 because it turns on/off with the folding boom arm, which I figure would be hard to accidently open in my pocket.

Damn man, you taught me something new again - just close the boom arm and the BT isn't active on the phone. So slick.

Thanks - (and karma to you).

heh, I purchased the HS850 because it was the smallest and best headset Motorola offered. Now I come to find out it's a damn fine piece of equipment.
