I have wanted a PDA like phone for a while now and now that my phone is starting to mess up, I figure it is a good time to get a new one. I have Verizon so I am limited to these as my best options, the 7250 and the 650. I ruled out the Treo 700w because I read that the 650 is better and cheaper. Anyone have one of these two phones? I am not sure what I will have to upgrade in my current contract so I plan on calling Verizon soon. I hope I don't have to pay a lot more or anything just to use one of these two phones. I am sort of leaning towards the 650. Sucks that for Verizon I can't just switch out a SIMM card or something. Any helpful suggestions or comments?

I like the Blackberry. Is that Blackberry 7250 the newest version that can be used w/ Verizon?

Hmm... pretty divided. Yes, that is the newest Blackberry available to Verizon users.

Well I guess it depends what you'll be using it for, the treo might have more features. But the blackberry is MUCH easier to type with, has a bigger screen, more user-friendly interface. They're also extremely durable. Last summer at the beach my dad left his on the rear bumper, it dropped off on the highway going like 65. He realized it at the gas station so we went back and found it on the side of the road, and it still worked.

But I can't stress enough how much easier it is to type on it. I've tried a treo out before and it reminds me of text messaging on a phone, kind of annoying.

Yeah, I will have to go to some Verizon outlet and actually try typing on each one because typing is a huge part of why I am getting one obviously. I wanted that Blackberry but it wasn't offered by Verizon, only the one I listed and a thinner one that isn't really like a Blackberry but more like a phone. The only Treo's they offer are the 650 and the 700w but I heard the 650 is better.

Work supplied me with the BB 7250 and I LOVE it. But I don't use the phone, so the Treo might be better. Does the Treo have bluetooth? The BB does, fyi.

Yes, the 650 is Bluetooth enabled. Anyone have any idea what the price increase would be in order to use either a Blackberry or Treo? I know the plan has to be upgraded in order to utilize the internet on the Treo and Blackberry's service. I plan on calling them some time this week. Maybe today at work when I have nothing to do.
