This is already being discussed in another thread but since I'm running the tourny I wanted to make a thread so I can make it clear what the rules are and such...
Here is the deal. Its Selection Sunday so brackets can be made today. We are running a tournament for FiPG and anyone else really that wants to play. The more the merrier.
[b2484d1814b]Entry fee is $15.76[/b2484d1814b] ($0.76 to cover PayPal and keep numbers nice and round) and payouts are as follows

2nd Place - 25%

Scoring is as follows for each correct pick in that round
[b2484d1814b]1st Round - 1 point
2nd Round - 2 points
Sweet 16 - 4 points
Elite Eight - 8 points
Final 4 - 16 points

Tie Breaker is total combined points in the Championship game

One question, Is there a leaders board for our tournament. So we can see whos in the top three at any given time our do we just find out at the end?

Once it starts their is a standings page where it shows whos in first, second, third, etc. You can also see who everyone picked once it starts. Doing well at the begining is important (picking good upsets) but getting those Final Four correct is whats going to win it for ya...

Yeah, But you also don't wanna have a team that you picked to go in the final four to lose in the second round. It's all about match ups not just whos a better seed. LSU isn't a very good ball handler where as Syracuse is so I don't really expect them to make it out of the second round alive.
Thats how you pick good upsets is by looking at the indovisual game and not just who's favord theres always a few 3-5 seeds who get taken down early you just gotta know who.

Although i think they will when it's going to be tuff for Syracuse to beat Texas A&M. They have been playing very well as of late and just barely lost to Texas in the semi finals. I would look at that game to maybe be a potential upset but i still think i'm going to go with Syracuse.

My second round should be pretty good. I didn't have any teams that have lost going any further than the first game so thats not a big concern. Where as alot of people had Syracuse and Iowa going into the sweet 16 out of those two I olny picked Iowa to win there first game.
The Northern Iowa game was going to claim me soul possession of first. But they couldn't hold there lead and chocked bad withen the last 5 minutes takeing all of those 3pt shots and instead bumped me down to 3rd place.
Hopfully, I can get back in 1st tonight. And than start to run away with it in the second round and sweet 16.

I think the LSU Duke game is ganna make or brake pretty much everyones brakets, I'm pretty sure i'm the olny one who dosen't have them in the final four. If duke loses in the sweet 16 to LSU I think i'm pretty much set for 1st place, However if they don't than I might be gone lol.

HOLY SHIT KIDS!!! Tonight had to be one of the best series of games I have ever seen!!! I go to a Big 12 school and was at the bar and never have I seen so many people go as wild for a rival school then they did in that game. I am not a UT fan but had to pick them and I am damn glad I did. Also thank you to UCLA for the amazing night you had and I respect what Morrison did for the Zags this year but...dude wait to cry until after the game is over...and thats serves you right for the way you beat my Cowboys this year earlier in the season. This is a tourny for the books my friends!! (sorry for the ramblings but I had to tell somebody)

Uf dominated the tournament...and the entire season. What do you mean they should have had no chance of winning. They started out 17-0, got better off of a few losses. Then after losing to Tennessee for their 6th loss, they won straight through to tonight. The losses made them better as they matured as a team.
Florida dominated the league with a bunch of 04 sophomores who will be back next year because they arent hot headed like a previous few who left (walsh, robertson).
Anyway I'm not going to call a repeat, but watch out the gators will be back for at LEAST another year. They dominated the tournament, with Noah leading the way. However he wasnt their entire team.
The entire starting line up stepped their game up. Noah is the real thing. If you watched them at all in the tournament, no one was able to take it inside on horford and noah except georgetown. UCLA had at least 2-3 air balled layups, if not more, plus the 10+ blocks from UF. Villanova, mason, they all had the same problem. The three point shooters open the floor and allow the forwards to shine. Dont expect Noah to go to the NBA, he isnt that type of player plus he needs to work out some.

he has avoided attention and he really isnt that type of guy. At least from what I know, there is too much of a bond with the other players. Why does he need to go to the NBA. His first real season he won a championship, it is not like his family needs the money. He's simply not 'ready'.

When did I say anything bad about Cali. Im not that guy. Only said that in response to wolfeman having no better response to me then making fun of the state I live, which I now assume is Fla. Well I don't even live there. I've lived and worked in Cali, school in Fla, work in Ore, work in NY, and now working in DC. I don't hate on other people states unless they want to to try and degrade where I might come from simply because they lack a better response.

One of my better friends from college went to the UN hs in Manhattan. He's pretty good friends with Joakim. About 3 summers ago when I was still living in Ny I met him quite a few times and hung out with him. I found out that he was going to Fla and stuff but still didn't think he would be all that good when we were chillin. Pretty skinny back then and just didn't project superstar at that time. I still thought it was cool he was going to Fla. Let's just say I was more shocked than anyone since I actuall hung out with the kid but never suspected he could be that good or that energetic. He seemed like a pretty laid back kinda dude when we hung out.
My friend actually told me to come with him to Gainesville last year during Christmas break to go hang with Joakim and party out there. I ended up going somewhere else ( carribean) though I do regret not making that trip now. My friend had good stories about a lot of drunk and crazy white women. But no I haven't seen him in quite a while considering I myself have been bouncing around the country working in numerous states. I do plan however to make a trip back to Ny soon to go hang out for the weekend.

yea i did read on espn...or school newspaper...or even earlier in this post that he got good in NY over the summer, working out, running and playing on the Rucker Squad. Best ive come to meeting him is sitting next to him on a bus. Thats back when I didnt even know who he was.
