Does anyone here have any suggestions on a HTC QWERTY phone. I've been looking at the Cingular 8125, and the i-mate K-JAM. I would like it to have more than 200 mhz, maybe a camera more than 1.3mp and 802.11b/[b3c75c5985b]g[/b3c75c5985b] would be nice. I really don't want a price tag over $1,000. Im open to all suggestions, thanks.

My advice is not to spend more than $400 on a cell phone, since they're obsolete after a month or two.

I have the Cingular 8125. Love it. At first I was hesitant because of the 200Mhz proc, coming from a 400Mhz PocketPC PDA, but reviews said it was plenty fast. Turns out the OMAP850 proc is a dual core, with one core handling the PDA duties and the other dedicated to phone and media, so honestly it's not so bad. For basic PDA functionality and little games and such, I can't tell it from my 400Mhz. They have to keep the proc down to get acceptable battery life, you don't want to have to worry about your phone dying in the middle of the day because you played Solitaire for 20 minutes between meetings. ) The keyboard is awesome, phone and bluetooth performance is great. I really have no complaints.

One word of advice though get a screen protector! I've always done this for my PDA's anyway, but with a PPC phone it's even more crucial. You know the oils and gunk from your face that smear all over your cellphone display? It's even worse on a PPC phone because of the bigger screen. A screen protector will help keep your screen safe from the constant cleaning. I use the Crystal protectors from BoxWave, they are totally invisible.

Thanks for the advice. I am really considering the Cingular 8125 now.

that is a lame name. in the 80's it would have been 'boss' but now it's very dated to call something high tech.
cool phones though. I like the sony ericsson 990i for an all in one phone...
