Ok, my parents are tired of our current POS printer dying.
I suggested getting a cheaper laser writer, but I don't know much about printers.
Also, we have a wired network at our house, is it possible to connect my computer upstairs to the printer downstairs?
I could use some printer suggestions as well.

To answer your other question, if you have your PCs networked, you can set one printer to be shared to all of the other PCs and print to that wirelessly.

Windows XP will allow you to share a printer connected to another computer. Do you have a home network setup?
You could also get a print server, but that'd cost some extra $$$.

control panel > printers and faxes > right click > sharing
set it up to share
then go to your other computers and you should be able to install it.
