Alright, I already got my system. But seens as I am a nice older brother, and my little brother just got his license and first vehicle, I am gonna buy him one...

Ok, I'm not all that nice, so I need some cheaper subs and amp, but some that hit nice and sound crisp. I do have a budget...under 200 for sub(s) and amp. liNo box neededli Anyone have an suggestions?

Note I prefer to buy from ebay or legit companies(no small internet only companies.)

Thanx in advanced y'all.

Ikesound.com has a pair of Phoenix gold Octane ZR 4 $50 a piece. Those subs have a high effiency and can take abuse like no other.. You can overpower them and flood them with bass boost. I think they might even be able to handle a 16 year old, but don't quote me on it. The 12 dual 2's are rated at 350 rms a sub.
I know only one good mono block amp for $100.. and I'm not telling what it is because I got dibs on it. P So, either spend more, get a stolen one off the street, or just tell your little brother to get one himself. $200 won't even get you a great 700 + rms amp on ebay, more or less $100. A lanzar vibe is your next best bet for $130 shipped.. You'll need d4's if you're running a pair though, since vibe's are 2 channels.
Oh and remember, don't listen to any one that says you get what you pay for 'cause all of us are on budgets. A tight box can make any shitty subs pound.

Thanx SonTenshinhan. Quick question for y'all though, watcha think of Kickers?

I found a 500RMS 15" Kicker for $75 shipped.

Watcha think of that?

You might want to let him get a little distraction-free experience before he starts bumping down the road. I just hooked up a little something in an ecplise spyder yesterday....</3 the tiny ass trunk.

Two 12's push more air than one 15. Kicker doesn't take solid abuse like those octane zrs either. I had one L5, and it blew up a week later w/ full bass boost and no break in. (Granted this was ridiculous on my part) But, 500rms for $75 to your door is not a horrible deal. It's a step down, but it'll still pound with the right box. And bass isn't distracting.. I got my first subs 3 months after I got my License. The only accident I ever was in was when I had no beat and I almost always have my subs going off.

My friend just bought two 2005-series 15" Kicker L5's for like $100-$150 each on eBay, brand new in the box, and a 1600 watt amp for $120 plus shipping. Ok, so it may be over your budget, but his system knocks harder than anything I've ever heard.

Here's some links to stuff on eBay
1600w amp (used) - current bid @ $5.50 - http//cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KENWOOD-KAC-X30IT-Like-New-10-12-15-inch-sub-subs-w-fan_W0QQitemZ8044098418QQcategoryZ38638QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

WOW! 2 15 inch subs, new in box - current bid @ $100 ends in 1 day - http//cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-PAIR-Pyle-15-inch-subs-2800-watts_W0QQitemZ5876763331QQcategoryZ18804QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Those subs use 1400w each, but with that 1600w amp, you could push 800w to each sub, which would still thump...not sure if it's bridgeable or not, but check and see. Here's a link to a $60 1000w amp, 12 available, so you could buy 2 and push 1000w to each sub, but it'd cost a little bit more than $200. http//cgi.ebay.com/NEW-1000-Watt-4-Channel-Bridgeable-MOSFET-Amplifier-AMP_W0QQitemZ5873363654QQcategoryZ4950QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
