After hearing in school about the guy who straped 42 balloons to his lawn chair and flying up 11000ft, my friend and I are gonig to try a variation on this. We just want enough so we can jump, and go up kinda far (10-30ft??) and glide down. Anyone have any ideas? We can get 7ft weather balloons off ebay, how many do we need if we weigh 110 lbs? Where can we get helium, how much do we need? How much will helium cost?

Thanks

Please do your first test with 1 half-inflated balloon, from the top of a thirty-story building.

Get it on video and post it here.

That would be damn hilarious if you strapped too many balloons and after jumping the guy would just keep going up.

Of course you aren't going to go through with this idea (.

ya we are doing it. The guy who went up won a darwin award (even though hes alive). We do not want to fly, just be able to jump really high. We are going to make sure we do not fly off, and will make sure if we do start to go up, we can let go of the balloon. Any one know how many lbs a 7ft helium weather balloon can lift? IM me if you are interested and want to help (you will get to see the video too). Sc/name spetsacdc

I have nothing to do with the donation system, that's why I don't reply to them. I'm a moderator because I'm willing to help out and get rid of spam on the forums.

sorry for the confusion, do you guys ever mention anything about the kids complaining about not getting their referral links up? i dont mean to be a pest but i just think that its representing bad business when questions dont even get a response like "i'll look into it" or something from a moderator, when its obvious you guys read those posts. is there an email addy or something these kids can write to to get a response? i'm just trying to help out since they are supporting the continuation of this site in whole and that includes these forums, the only community ive been a part of in a while.

There's an e-mail address on the donation page, bar-of-soap (at) bar-of-soap (dot) com that they should use to contact someone about the donation link.

cowkiller6,

did you get a free ipod already? if you did, can I have it in case something happens to you? I thought I'd take my chance if no one asked before.

I hope you plan on doing this before they ship the last 10/13 stvs.

l0th I guess if something happens, you can have it. Just talk to me on aim spetsacdc and I'll get ur addy or something. I don't think anything will go wrong. I just need to figure out the lbs of lift from a 7ft diameter weatehr balloon. Also, if I just want to jump high, I know the lbs of lift cannot be more than 110 lbs(my weight), should it be equal to, half my weight or something like 1/4 my weight if i want to jump like 10-30 ft.

Thanks
