I'm more of a dance person, I can't stand "techno" but love "dance", "house", and "trance"

So

DHT's "Someone" (Furious F Radio Edit), "Listen To Your Heart" (Abercrombie&Fitch January 2005 Edit)
ATB's "Ecstasy", "Fields of Love", and "Let U Go"
Lost Knowledge's cover of Richard Marx's "Hazard" (this is like extremely hard to find)
DT8's "Winter"
Ryan Cabrera's "True" (Ford Radio Edit)
Benassi Bros' "Feel Alive" [Not sure if I got the artist right, sorry]
Coldplay's "Talk" (Junkie XL Remix)

There's a LOT more, but that's a start.

Yeah, id actually like some ideas, too. Ive always liked techno a little bit, but never knew how to really get into it.

And btw, does anyone know the name of the techno song from American Pie when Nadia is in Jims bedroom? My friend has it, and i wanted to download it but forgot the name.

I've been trying to get into electronic music lately, i've been listening to a lot of experimental indie music with lots of electronic elements(of montreal, fiery furnaces), and recently went on a full out electronica downloading spree on oink

I just asked for reccomendations, I wasn't looking for the house or the techno stuff so much, hell i couldnt even catagorize it if i had too.

I asked for the ambient, electronic, experimental shit. I got like over 20 albums though so it may take a while to digest

These aren't dance music, but they are electronic. Maybe a bit too serious for what you're looking for, but they're all pretty dope in my book.

Air
Aphex Twin
autechre
Kraftwerk
Brian Eno

btw justinag06, Fiery Furnaces are pretty great.

And on the off chance that you haven't checked out Radiohead's Kid A, just do it....

justinag06

thats kinda what im looking for is the shit like that, I love kid a too..

I think I got an aphex twin album recently they are edgy. I need to get kraftwerk too, I always hear one of my favorite wilco tracks spiders comparred to them.

air and brian eno i've alos heard good things about.

any reccomend albums for the lot?

[b80de0cee08]Air - Talkie Walkie[/b80de0cee08] is good, but check out older stuff too. La Femme D'Argent is the track that got me into them.
[b80de0cee08]Aphex Twin - The Richard D. James Album[/b80de0cee08]
[b80de0cee08]autechre - tri repetae[/b80de0cee08] is good. i need to catch up on their newer stuff.
[b80de0cee08]Kraftwerk - Minimum-Maximum[/b80de0cee08] is their new live album. Great starting point.
[b80de0cee08]Brian Eno - Ambient 4 On Land [/b80de0cee08]

I went to a live electronic music concert last night at Harvard. The music was curated by a renowned composer, and most of the pieces were accompanied by either a soprano or 2-4 instruments. It was pretty amazing, actually...they had a 32-speaker surround sound system set up in a hall with incredible acoustics.

Video of the sound system in concert is here.

I haven't heard much of Tutschku's music, but I plan to check it out after the show. I'm headed to Tweeter to check out new systems myself...
