I bought a game for my Vaio, but about 9/10th the way done it had an error, and my comptuer ended up freezing, I held the power button to shut it down... Now I put the disc back in to try to install it, I click the install, and it does nothing... It acts like it did the first time it tried to install, but now the disc just stops spinning... I searched for any file with the name of the program or the initials of it, and deleted all I could find, still nothing... What can I do to get this installed??

What game is it?
What kind of video card does your vaio have?
Try uninstalling and reinstalling, chances are you laptop is not powerful enough to play the game..

It Requires
Processor 400 MHz
Op. Sys Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
Ram 128MB
Hard Drive 1.2GB
Graphics 16MB 3D video Card
Not sure about the Video Card, it is a 15" Sony Vaio FS Laptop... I figure it should be able to handle this game... its Railroad Tycoon 3... nothing that special...

well, you should have looked in add/remove programs under control panel first, and uninstalled it. If it didn't make an entry there, I would explore the cd (right-click on drive -> explore) and start the install file again.

First Question is... Does it do the same thing when you try to install another program from a different disc does it do the same thing? If it does the same thing with different disc then you should contact Sony. If not first make sure the Disc isn't scratched and make sure is clean(a DROP of dish washing liquid and a cup of water will do the trick). Then Clean up your hard disk click the start button and then go to all programs then go to accessories then to System Tools, then finally Disk Cleanup. Clean up everything by making sure all the check boxes are checked and hitting okay. Make sure everything is closed and you have nothing in the back ground taking up memory, like I.E. and FireFox, Warez, etc. You can do that by hitting Ctrl+Alt+ Delete buttons (yeah together). Then put the cd back in and click install.

I installed a different application (a demo) from the same disc and it worked fine, it just won't let me install RT3... I tried to clean the disc, and even made a different account on my machine to install it on and nothing has worked... anyone know something else I can do?

Well, i played it last summer on a friends computer, so I already knew it was great... It isn't near as much of a kids game as it would seem, it is a skill game...

Try ripping it into an ISO then installing via Daemon Tools.
