what would your reccomend, World of Warcraft or Guildwars?

I was thinking of getting one or the other and I was wondering what you guys would reccomend, Guildwars or World of Warcraft? Thanx!

Honestly I would stay away, way too addicting. Still fun, but sucks away from everything else in life, happened to me before with other games ( Get Civ IV or COD2 instead, but if you have to play an mmo I'd get Guild Wars because its free and maybe not AS addicting

Better put. Don't get involved. Its too committing.

GW is a GREAT option for someone who does not want to pay monthly fees and does not want to be committed to lvl'ing a character. If you just want to PvP or GvG (guild vs guild), GW allows you to create a character that is already at the max lvl. You gain "faction" point by killing/winning matches, which allows you to buy skills/runes. Of course, there is always the role-playing character if you are willing to spend a little more time going through the story and lvl'ing up. Keep in mind that the max lvl in GW is 20 because of its focus on PvP and GvG.

WoW is more competitive and much more popular, but also more expensive.
Guildwars probably has a better design, but the playerbase of WoW is much more developed.

If $$ aren't a problem I would go with WoW.

I have to warn you though...so addicting...honestly be prepared to give up your life...well maybe not that much.

don;t get addicted imo, play Everquest 1 for 4 years and wow for 1 now, and im only 17 hahaha. its very hard to quit, but wow is definately > than GW

I recommend going outside and playing hopscotch with some of your friends.

Civ IV is freaking great. Its addicting as hell but you can easily save a game and come back a week later and get right back into it. I hate MMORPGs so I say buy Civ IV but make sure you get the patches )

All of the people who say GW sucks and WoW rocks obivously either never played Guild Wars or are not even a MMORPG fan. You probably use what other people say to state that Guild Wars sucks because if you play it, you will know how good of an MMORPG it is. Pretty good story line and I love how there are missions and quests that you can do.

Gotta love the 15K armours too. )

I would recommend Guild Wars if u are a beginner to get used to MMORPG style since there are no monthly fees involved. If you are a senior MMORPG player, you could start with WoW and play 12 hours a day to make up for the $30 60 day playing card.
