dvd drives

im looking to get a dvd drive is there a diffrence between external and internal ones besides the fact one goes in computer and one doesnt.

im debating between getting

or an external version of that from ebay

The only differences are the obvious one you pointed out, and the external one is portable. It's probably hooked up to the computer using a USB cable, so you can take it anywhere and burn stuff off of any computer with a USB port. Still, I'd get the internal one cause it's probably faster (data is sent thru the USB cable which is slower than IDE...I think).

yeah, if you know how and your computer can handle it, put it in your computer. also, if it doesn't work out the way you like, you can by a drive enclosure and have created an external drive that you can use anywhere.

id di make a thread before asking what dvd drive to get, but than i saw the option of external ones and was wondering if the NEC would still be the best bet, im probabaly going to get the internet one cause its faster and cheaper. but if i had an external i could have the portablility of it.
