I wanted to download a program that could convert all my video files, but when I downloaded it I realized that a virus was attached. Now my comp is messed up, constantly popping up ads for who knows what.
I downloaded spybot search and destroy and adaware to try to fix the problem. They both found a buttload of files to delete, but it's not completely fixed.
Can anyone help me get rid of this virus?

Where did you download Videora from? Was it the official website or did you pirate it or download a crack?

i think the name might be COMMAND because whenever i search for problems using those programs, COMMAND and COMMAND SERVICE keeps showing up. i just get a ton of popups all the time

Reboot in Safe Mode (Tap F8 while your system is restarting), then run Spybot S&D, AdAware, and whatever virus scan you have. You should be able to remove any and all harmful objects in Safe Mode as you won't have any shared access problems. Hope this helps.

ok, thanks- also when I try to log onto one of my user accounts (i have three users on the comp) the screen is completely black, but the cursor shows up. but nothing else, not a thing except for the cursor. my other user accounts on the ocmp work fine. what's the matter with this one?

Can you hear the system making any sounds? It might just be trying to load the desktop while some adware process(es) suck all the resources. I'm not sure I fully understand your question, though.

Also, if you can, install Yahoo AntiSpy. That works wonders on all of my Windows systems I use. I never get any spyware crap anymore and the spyware my daughter gets on her system, it cleans it right off.
And thx to akalic for the mention of AVG Antivirus. I need one for my systems here now that Norton has expired and I don't care to renew it anymore.

or you could drill a hole in your hard drive and drain the spyware out. -)

Yeah that's an idea for Spyware. My Brother-in-law's a Computer Engineer and he's done it a few times. That shit pours out but the consistency of Virus' means that only software can get rid Virus'.

actually, a few extra holes in the drive should take care of the viruses as well -)
