What does party poker consider a raked hand? Is it any hand that gets past the flop? Or just any hand period?

Any hand in which the pot reaches at least $5 I believe. You still get points even if you folded preflop.

i think its just a quarter to the rake actually

which a means $2.5 pot

if you are playing party sit down at 3 or 4 NL tables of the smallest limit like .1/.25

sit down with $9 at each of them, and get in the habit of folding a lot of hands, if you only play the premium ones you will be able to work 4 tables at once easily. Also you are playing out the rake 4X faster. I would say about 50% of the pots at least are a raked hand so it really fast.

honestly I can clear a party bonus of 500 raked hands in under 3 hours at 4 tables, it is incredibly easier, compare this with any other poker room and learn how much harder it is

Whoops, it is $5 for a raked hand assuming if you're playing limit hold em .50/1 or 1/2, I guess it's lower for NL though.

by the way a little explanation of what i mean by premium hands is the following only
tier 1
AA KK AKs QQ
tier 2
AK AQs JJ TT
tier 3
AJ KQ AQ AT

I play each hand differnt, with aa, kk, ak, qq coming off aggressive preflop. You cant fuck around with these hands. a lot of people catch aces then try to slowplay them. Thats a fast plan to lose all your money.

solution -> raise 3-5X the BB. if the blinds have been raised already PF, raise 2-3X the inital raise unless it is a situation where you have aces and position on a player you think is strong

in this case i will attempt to trap him on the flop.

jacks and tens i play different, if the pot has a lot of limpers and i have position I raise a good amount- 4-6X the BB, if it has been raised withen this spectrum sometimes I fold, sometimes I call sometimes I raise. its a tough decision.

in early position with jacks i like to limp and hope for a raise so i can re raise, or maybe a favorable flop. I mix this up by also coming out and playing them like the aces too sometimes.

tens i usually limp unless the pot is raised in which case I reraise. I don't much care for tens, they are a dangerous hand unless you raised the pot and everyone else entered it.

at,aq,aj,kq- raise 1-4X the BB. mix it up of course the stronger the hand the bigger the raise, but also think about position I fold at in the first 3 spots and aj from the first 2.

if the pot has been raised say 4X the BB I don't like to call without KQ or AQ. even then I might be in trouble but it is a dangerous call sometimes you are better of folding a pot you haven't invested in yet.

any pocket pair is worth a call of the big blind only to me, I dont pull the fancy WSOP raises and all ins with pocket 4s like some people do. or call downs to the river with 7s. I call the BB, if I have like 9s and the flop is unders ill bet out of course, but if I have 7s and the blind is raised back to me PF i fold at this point. Because i have shown weakness by limping I will not be able to know if my opponent has raised because of weakness or actuall strength. My ability to know i have the best hand will be gone, and he will not be scarred of me. It's just a dire situation to be in but it only costs a quarter to see.

you have no reads in online, so just hope to limp and hit a set. when you do bet right out becuase no one will ever suspect you hit a set.

I make the most money on 3 of a kind than any other hand in online poker for this reason.

i call suited connectors from the SB too.

once you learn to fold hands like KJ, and QJ, KT, and A7 then you will learn how to make money in online NL holdem at small stakes.

if you play 4 tables and just stick to folding maximize your odds playing premium hands, and when you do that you minimize your chances of making a mistake.

also when you play across multiple tables you minimize the factor of luck over time, this works in your favor because you are only playing the best.

the general idea of playing with $9 at a $25 table is when you play any one of these hands it has the possibility to put you all in, this is great because we know when to fold and when to stick around. when our hands connect we continue betting strong, and if we get outdrawn on the river well guess what it doesnt matter we only have $2 left so you can just call it.

whenever i get my stack to 150% or more i turn off the blinds and leave as soon as they get around to me

then join a new table and start again.

Thanks justin, that helps (first time playing online poker). I play pretty tight so folding that much isnt a problem for me.

EDIT Also, is there a way to see how many raked hands youve played?

yup and yup

delay is a thing that is tricky

generally it convays weakness or an attempt to bluff

you can generally call a bet like this, then on the turn lead out and go all in if a blank hits.

but to a strong player delay is a very potent weapon

for example when I have the nuts and have a player who I think might call... I wait

i wait till it starts saying you have 15 seconds left to act
then i go all in

this little delay usually tricks people into thinking you had a really tough decision but at the end just didnt want to throw your hand away.

however say someone raises PF and its their turn first on the flop
and they just bet out instantly, they probably hit their hand or already had a good one before the flop. if it misses they want to stop and think if they should bluff at it

on the contrary if they flop a big hand like a straight or a set they will not bet right out but will have to stop and think how it should be played.

instant calls generally mean the player has a big draw or a hand that just might hit like an AK.

so i tend to watch out for callers

the first thing you should do on any flop is analyize the texture of it.

it takes a while to master this

but look for the following things

straights, flushes.

how many suited cards hit the board, is there a possible straight? is it a likely one?

connectors or cards like 6 9 are much more likely straight hand helpers then ones like 6 8. because very rarely is someone playing a ten 8 but is much more likely to play a 8 7.

so be on the lookout for possible draws, never check to a draw you must bet an ammount he is forced to call that is less than the chance of him hitting the draw.

that ammount for you is almost always more then half the pot. so if you hit top pair you want to bet 60-75% of the pot. and continue to on the turn.

untill you are all in.

yeah on party on the right it says my bonus account or bonus details

if you click that link it should bring up an IE window you can naviagate your way to find it

while you are at it sign up for the party points players club thing.

if you play enough hands you can get anything from poker books, to gear, to jewelry to ipods and flatscreens.

and its free
