You can't go a day without seeing a cool off topic link posted, after some people go "oh wow cool" the OP comes back in and is like "kma pls if you like"
Seriously. I don't get it. It's almost getting as bad as the the post count race. People doing stuff for the explicit purpose of getting karma.
I check in here daily to get PMs and check my trades. But I never go to my own profile and go OMG I NEDE KARMA AND MORE POSTS. Trade Record is something "real" it shows how well you trade.
Do you get off to your karma rating at night? Does your mom give you a cookie for every karma point? Is Admin trading karma points for ad space?
I think quite a few of the 'problems' in the Off-Topic forum and else where could be eliminated if the post count and karma were removed. If you know how to help people, help them, if not. Move along.
And no. I don't want any damn Karma.

i do understand the idea of having an obsession with posts or karma, but it is good to look at people from the whole sense. look at someone's tr, posts, and i see karma as a thing to see how many times the person has helped someone else.
i also only give karma if someone helps me. if there is a useful topic that helps me do what i need to do, i give the person karma.
overall, i see it more as a "fun" thing, rather than a "compeition" thing.

I used to be one of the top ten Karma kings, and no, I do not request or, and actually deny if requested. Although I do not try to accept Karma like a nazi, I do give +KMA to peeps thats help me out -D

i always saw it as how helpful someone is, if i help out a newbie, which i do a lot, then why not get karma to show that you did contribute to this forum, its just a button and a number, nothing more....its not really that big of a deal man...why would you make an entire thread for it....that in and of itself seems pretty pathetic to me shrug ....
