Anyone have Direct TV with High Def channels? Are they 16:9?

I'm thinking about getting Direct TV because I got an HD TV but no content except for the xbox360 previews. They are having a deal right now for a free receiver and installation and it's only $50 a month including the 15 or so HD channels.

My question is are all the HD channels in 169 or are some still in 43? My HDTV is only 30" so it would be pretty small if it wasn't in widescreen. I have a regular 36" set that has a bigger screen in 43 but smaller when in widescreen. The local cable company is Cox and they said "they have no plans to bring HD content to my area." So Direct TV is my only option.
Thanks boys and girls!

I have DirecTV, goes out a lot during storms and snow, but in LA I'm sure you don't have the snow problem as much.

I have dishnetwork while my mom has directv. both services have hd in 169. their directv goes out at the slightest hint of rain (when I lived at home we had dishnetwork at the same house and it never went out...), our dish set up never goes out at our house. I just upgraded to dish's new mpeg-4 dvr the vip622 and I love it. they now offer up to 23 or so channels in high def which currently beats out directv. They have a deal for new customers too, but I don't think it's free hardware. It might be worth calling to find out though. 888-825-2557

I got dtv last march. we got an HD TV in november and upgraded to hd service. we got the newest hd receiver and 6 months of programming free (I think it is normally 10/month), and an over teh air antenna. we ended up getting paid $50 for all this )
quite a sweet deal. I love HD, if not just for watching sports. HD locals are a must. universal hd has been great for the olympics.
also of note, not all HD broadcasted channels have all HD content. cbs will have some in hd, others not. commercials are not in hd.
it is SO worth it.
care to use me as a referral ;) for dtv )
a great site would be
www.satelliteguys.us for satellite information
