Okay so tomorrow I leave for the snow. I have never seen or been in snow ever. So it's going to be my first time. And I'm driving, luckily it's going to be pretty warm.
I was just wondering if anyone could give me some first timer tips.

Wear a coat, gloves and a hat. The gloves are essential if you plan on building snowmen.

snowmen take skill to build, you can't build them on your first snow trip. especially ifyou've never even seen snow before.

That's gonna be a neat experience, like the first time you ride a bike, or have sex.
Strangely enough, you can get an STD from all three. ;)

And it has to be good "packing snow" in order for it to stay together wink If you're driving, and there is still snow on the ground, be very careful w/ black ice (ice patches that blend in w/ the road). This usually occurs around bridges and such. And if you're gonna have a snowball fight, use those big thick gloves not the thin woven ones, cause after a while, your hands will get frozen ) I'm heading up to Denver for and Avs game spring break and can't wait to see snow again.

Remember, if the snow feels wet, there's something wrong with it.

Other than that, enjoy the nice, dry snow.

Lol, I know what you mean. I live in central california so idk...my parents never took me, but this time I'm going with a friend and his parents.
Thanks for the advice so far. I probably won't get on again, so I'll be back on Sunday.

Amen.
Highlights of living in the snow belt of northeast Ohio
[list48c3275503][li48c3275503]Insanely slow traffic during the first major snowfall. Nevermind the fact that there is still TRACTION because the ground is warm.
[li48c3275503]That first awesome snowfall where the temperature is cold enough for road salt to be ineffective. All the roads have this perfectly compacted layer of snow that allows you to go fast, pull e-brake turns on every corner, and still stop a dime when you hit the brake
[li48c3275503]The inevitable snowfall where the plow trucks thought it smart to lay three times as much salt as normal and conveniently forget to plow the roads. The result 5-inch thick slush that a four-wheel drive vehicle can barely handle
[li48c3275503]The freak snowfall in April where the sky decides it's time to dump 6-10 inches of snow that is practically melting on its way down. The result power outages from all the power lines that now have tree branches sitting on them.[/listu48c3275503]
Ah yes, sweet, sweet snow.

driving in snow is something you have to get used to in chicago, i remember at first i was VERY, VERY, vigilante, and you have to be. CHanging lanes you hear a bunch of racket because of the snow and slush and tires, usually the roads get pretty clear but you always have to be careful..
i am sure you know this but be extra careful on bridges, my cousin in texas had an accident when it got a little bit cold down there.
