Do you really want to sit through a video lecture? ... do you really want to sit through any lecture? -- haven't gone to MIT but from the universities I've studied at, the better the reputation, the worse the lectures. Profs are all focused on research and publications and not too much on the actual teaching component.

That is actually kind of true, but sometimes its all about the fact that the certain school has a good reputation, no matter how you got through or how much you learned.
