I can't get it to charge. I normally have it plugged into one of my usb ports but in the past couple of days it hasn't been charging. I don't get the battery icon showing that it is charging. And when I plugged it into the wall outlet I got the icon and left it plugged in for a few hours and when I turn it on the battery icon is still red. I contacted Apple about getting a new usb cable but could there be something wrong with my ipod? Its a 20g photo. I got it from Freepay back at the end of August so I'm still within the warranty period. Am I going to have to send it in to get fixed if the usb cable doesn't work? Please help me out.

Do you have an Apple store near you? You could go there if there's one nearby.

just hop in the local Apple store or maybe even Best Buy see if you can get some help asap.

if the wall charger AND the usb cable charging methods both do not work, there is a high chance that it is the ipods fault...

If you want to try a quick test, push the plug connected to the ipod up for a while as it is plugged into a charger to see if it charges then (to see if it is a connection problem). And then try down.

Does data transfer fine?

is your wall charger a usb (standard little box that your updating cable plugs into) or a generic directly from the wall to the ipod charger?

did they do phone troubleshooting to determine it was the cord though? That is awesome that they're sending one though.

no phone troubleshooting, they do have some pretty good support on apple.com, they even have a 24 hour online support
