I was watching live tv on wmp when my left speaker started crackling. Then there was a poof and then there was just audio through the right speaker. I checked all the plugs and everything seems fine. Does anyone know if this is fixable?
I might just end up buy some new ones on ebay or something. Does anyone reccommend any mid priced speakers?

How much are you looking to spend? How many speakers? Surround?
mid-priced how much is that around?
Hmm, I don't even know the name of these speakers. They just say Platinum JBL Series.
I don't know what kind of speakers I should buy yet. I don't want to spend $100 and I don't want to buy cheap $10 speakers either. I want crisp sounding speakers that I can enjoy music, movies, etc. on. Maybe a pair of speakers or a set of 4? I got this sound card a few months ago. It's a Creative SoundBlaster Live! card. I think it supports up to 5.1 dolby or something.

I don't think you'll find any good speakers for under $100.

they're not that good.. but then again it's only 50 bucks.. you get what you pay for. just wait until amazon has logitech z-2300 for about $60 again. surround sounds isn't too useful for music. and i have these speakers right now for my computer since i hooked up my z-5500 to my tv and these things totally rock ass
